murray street
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/23862467 Yeovil Town manager Gary Johnson explains to BBC Spotlight why he allowed Birmingham to walk in a goal in their League Cup second-round clash. The visitors had kicked the ball out of play following an injury to Dan Burn and Lee Clark's team expected it to be returned to them. However, Glovers defender Byron Webster received the ball from the throw-in and chipped Blues goalkeeper Colin Doyle, who was still off his line, to make it 2-2 and send the tie into extra time. After Luke Ayling had made it 3-2 to Yeovil, Johnson said he made the "humble decision" to let Birmingham score unopposed. The game eventually went to penalties and the Blues progressed. Has anybody got Alan Archibalds email address?
Callum Gilhooley
Looked at the title & thought, so what ? we let the opposition do that most weeks !
Isabella Duke
Looked at the title & thought, so what ? we let the opposition do that most weeks ! Nonsense. We make a number of needless sideways passes around the back before passing straight to the opposition THEN allowing them to score... Has anybody got Alan Archibalds email address? It was pathetic that he only let Blues score to equalise after Yeovil went ahead (as an ex Blues season ticket holder i have no bias whatsoever in this). He only did it to avoid any post match bad publicity. My wife was listening to the online radio commentary and said that most of the Yeovil players wanted to let them score straight away but Johnson told them not to. Lanarkshire_Bud
I am of the opinion that if an opposition player is down then f**k him. It's the ref's job to stop play. In terms of giving the ball back, well fair enough. But play to whistle.
