Yes we could - but with a league record of 5 wins out of 29 and being the leagues lowest scorers with 23 goals scored is not exactly great reading for any new manager to come into. Hence the reason I said salvage job.
Glad he is gone and we managed to get good compensation. This season has been a real struggle, the football on show is terrible, and I was getting bored and frustrated with the constant rhetoric coming from him during his interviews. You would think he was managing Alloa with the spiel he was coming out with latterly. "Massively overachieving" and lack of budget being his latest favourites.
The January window has been a disaster, despite him saying he knew exactly what was required before it opened, and has not brought any improvement to our performances. Also the re-call of Smyth only to be sent back two games later (we had two of his signings in Donnelly and Campbell at the club anyway)and the changing to a back four for the Motherwell game, just gave off signs he had run out of ideas.
Whoever we get in has a huge salvage job to steady the ship and keep us in the division.
