We are amongst 6-8 sides who are capable of taking one of the spots between 3rd and 6th, everybody is ambitious, everybody is either well-run or can rely on an investor and most have very good managers. We are already top 6 regulars, the problem is how do we build on it-or even maintain it? It couldn't have been closer for us this season, so if everyone else is trying to hone their edge what are we doing to hone ours? As I said, sweating the asset will work for a while, until the time comes when depreciation becomes an issue. Hopefully, by that time, we will have found some avenues for growth to work alongside efficiency.
I think the management have done a very good job within the limitations of what the 90s and 2000s left them to work with, alongside the work of the support. The fans did the heavy lifting that makes the current success possible and we should be wary of trading the kind of belief we had in Gilmour & Co with similar belief in the current regime.
Same story trotted out every year for the last couple of years.
I wonder when our "support" will start to see we're capable of being a regular top 6 side while the manager is at the helm?
