shull
He's just written a book about Alex Ferguson. The Title .. ' Fergie Rises - How Britain's Greatest Football Manager Was Made At Aberdeen. ' Was he ? Obviously never heard of Fergies Furies. Saints fans were chanting ' Sir Alex Ferguson ' long before he went to Aberdeen and decades before he was officially given a Knighthood. A young Alex also done well at Firs Park. Grant - f**kem

Edinbuddie
Shull has a point! The premise of the book is that Ferguson was lucky to get the Aberdeen job and that they were as important to him as he was to them. Michael Grant is an Aberdeen fan and seems to written a book which seeks to all but write off his time at East Stirling and St Mirren and perpetuate the perception that his time at Aberdeen and Man Utd are the only periods worth talking about. "Thirty-five years previously he had arrived at the rain-swept training ground at Aberdeen F.C. as the recently sacked manager of St Mirren; a hothead with a troublesome reputation and a lot to prove. Not for nothing, many thought he was a risky choice". As we all know, he performed absolute miracles for us. He was a hothead but it was clear that he was also an excellent manager. There has also been the suggestion of him being tapped by Aberdeen, which makes the whole "he was a risky choice" premise a lot of p*sh! Wilbur
Didn't that bloke Alex Ferguson also write a book about Alex Ferguson fairly recently ? I don't see Michael Grant's book outselling that one. Does he know anything about Fergie that Fergie doesn't know ?

I don't see Michael Grant's book outselling that one. Does he know anything about Fergie that Fergie doesn't know ? When Alex Ferguson's book came out, I listened to guys on Radio 5 Live who said that some Manchester United fan who took a strong interest in Alex Ferguson's career was able to find lots of "inaccuracies" in Alex Ferguson's book. Ferguson apparently said something along the lines of at his age your memories aren't as sharp as they once were or whatever but this fan seemed to know quite a lot and remind people of certain events in Ferguson's Career at least.
