  1. Brian, Maybe set a deadline for say next Wednesday to get votes back for preferred date. Establish a venue then fire out invites for the date and venue. :-) Will hopefully get about 15-20 buds along come the day.
  2. Awful first half but terrific second half performance from our beloved buds. Stephen McGinn was inspirational today and drove the side onto that victory. It's obvious that he really cares for the club and we are lucky to have him for this relegation dogfight we are in. We need to play like we did in that second half to have any chance of clawing Ayr back and staying up.
  3. 1,526 at Queens v United game yesterday. Could well be less than 4,000 people watching two semi finals. I can't imagine new saints will bring more than 50 fans today. With televised games and random colt and Welsh teams it would seem this competition is all but finished.
  4. I will give Mrs Zo a shout and see if she can remedy that situation. ;-) Maybe I will wake up a new man tomorrow. Gutted Ayr came back from 2-0 down with 10 men to gain a valuable point away from home. I just can't believe we are so detached at the bottom when the teams above us in the league are no great shakes. It adds more pressure to next week's game. We must win. Where have we heard that before?:-(
  5. Pretty confident we will draw with Ayr next week and again fail to make inroads on the teams above us. Time is running out despite what anyone says and it is about time that Jack Ross starts getting wins in the league. At this rate we are going down without so much as a whimper and in my eyes that isn't good enough. Jack Ross has been in charge for about 4 or 5 months and has won something like 2 in 15 games. He needs to start proving he is a decent manager as I feel so far he hasn't shown that in my eyes. Make us hard to beat and getting clean sheets and in giving us a chance of winning games. Time to stand up and do what you get paid to do Mr Ross and that is win league games. No more excuses please!
  6. In the challenge cup in the past we had a couple of classic semi final victories. I fondly remember beating Ayr 2:1 at Somerset Park with Eddie Gallagher scoring the winner in the front of a large and bostrious travelling support then there was the brilliant game against Morton at Love Street in 2005. I think we won on penalties. Classic cup ties with decent crowds especially the Morton semi. Both midweek and great experiences. The least said about Rangers semi last year the better. Think there will be a very small crowd tomorrow, less than 2000 but it is a semi final so hopefully see a decent game, a few goals and a saints win. :-) United in the final would be brilliant 30 years on. :-)
  7. Hi Antrin, Another el classico tonight. Scott Townsley couldn't make it at last minute so was 8 v 7 but that didn't spoil what was a balanced and entertaining game. The non bibs raced into an early 2-0 lead and remained ahead for the rest of the game. It was a very enjoyable game. It finished 5-4 to the non bibs (team of 7). I can make the 1st but away on the 8th. Happy to go with the majority.
  8. Bit of a nightmare draw on a footballing level but a decent payday is all but guaranteed. I have seen us skelped at Parkhead on plenty of occasions and can't see this being any different. However, Ross and St Mirren have a decent record in the cups this season so we live in hope. As my mate text earlier 12-0 to Celtic could be on the cards or alternatively I say 1-0 saints thanks a Stephen McGinn screamer. At least we are in the last 8 and something to look forward to.
  9. Just for antrim. Groundhog Day! Another brilliant 5-5 game last night back at the Dome. Played in a good competitive spirit with big Mark clinching a late equaliser for the bibs with the last kick off the ball. Played with the small 5 aside goals and a good few missing lights across the middle of the dome which will hopefully get fixed in the coming weeks. The missing lights might account for a so many bad misses by the non bibs. What do you think Nicky?
  10. Another worrying aspect of yesterday was that we could be playing on surfaces as bad and possibly worse every second week next season. Sometimes we take for granted just how good a playing surface we have at St Mirren Park.
  11. The first thing any new manager should do when he comes into a club in a crisis like we were was make us hard to beat and stop conceding so many goals. Jack Ross has failed to do that week after week whether it was with Alex Rae's squad or now his new squad. I appreciate some have only been in the door a few days but Jack Ross has to up his game massively el pronto. Games are fast running out and by the time we play Ayr in a few weeks they could be 10 points ahead of us. I genuinely think that's us as good as relegated. The priority from day one should have been to stop the rot and save our season. Jack Ross said he was going to work with the players he had and make them the best they could be. He has failed to do that with any of the squad he inherited, I appreciate most were poor players but strikes of bad management skills in not being able to turn one or two round into decent performers. Jack Ross has shown very little in his time that he has what it takes to salvage this season. I know it's easy to sit and take pot shots at him on an Internet forum but I am saying what I see and it's not good. Losing the lead twice yesterday in such an important game is criminal. 2 points dropped. There was a very large travelling support but before the game there was no Falkirk style positivy, togetherness and defiance rather a nervousness about the support. I think most fans feel we are down now. It's a terrible time to be a buddie.:-(
  12. Hopefully see a large, positive and vocal away support today back the team from before kick off like we did at Falkirk a few years back. First away game since Firhill about 2 years ago. Should be some atmosphere in the away end today. :-)
  13. Is the away end a sell out then? Seems bonkers if there are spare tickets going that individuals like Zurich Alan and others couldn't get to the game because of Dumbarton's strange ticketing policy. I can't ever recall tickets for a St Mirren game not being on sale on the day of the game. Bonkers!
  14. Cheers Brian! Sorted two tickets for Court Bar. :-)
  15. Any supporters buses got a couple of spare seats?:-)
  16. Dumbarton 2 St Mirren 0. Attending the game but not feeling a saints win.:-(
  17. Another soul destroying experience at St Mirren Park. I want to remain positive but it is getting harder after every set back in the league. Based on league performances we look like a side destined for bottom spot. McGinn looked a class above everyone else on the pitch when he came on but Dumbarton and Ayr are picking up results while we just get beat every week. It doesn't look good. :-( Why did I buy tickets for the Dumbarton game this morning? Aaaaaaarghhh!
  18. Stephen McGinn has passed up the opportunity to be part of the Wycombe squad who travel to Tottenham to be in a wet and freezing Paisley. I am sure come 5 o'clock it will seem like a great idea. Good luck to all the debutants today. :-)
  19. Primal Scream - Come Together. Make it happen Phil! Ross County always seem to have a massive turnaround in personnel in the January transfer windows when things are going badly for them. It always seems to work for them. Our chances of staying up are still pretty slim but we live in hope. The new keeper seems like he could help massively at the back where i believe we have only kept one clean sheet in the league. We need to win something like 6 to 8 of our last 12 games depending on how our head to heads go with Ayr and Dumbarton. Ayr and Dumbarton may well pick up results today. :-( Time is running out. Today we have to beat Falkirk whatever it takes and I have feeling we will with goals from Loy and Sutton. 2-0 to the buds. Turn up early, in good voice and back the buds from the stand like you have never done at St Mirren Park before. The club and the players need us more than they they ever have. #backthebuds
  20. Always disappointing to see a young talent leave the buds before getting the best from them but it has to viewed as a decent bit of business for the club. A talented youngster who has made a handful of appearances, most of them whilst playing for a club that have been marooned to the foot of the Championship, selling for a fair wedge with some lucrative add ons. Would love to get the money Hamilton and Falkirk seem to command on a regular basis but sadly we don't. Barry McKay at Rangers for £6 million. You are having a laugh! You can't blame Kyle for wanting to the go because he knows the cruel side of the game when Rangers binned him as a youth and this chance might not come round again. Probably going from something like £300 a week to £3,000 a week. Good luck to him! I will watch his career with interest. Disappointing he couldn't have been loaned back until end of season but such is life. Time for us to get behind the players at the club, young and old, and back them in our bid for Championship survival. We are all in this together.
  21. Delighted to see McGinn is back. A very solid signing. A talented individual at a great age who will bring experience and composure to the side. Our comeback starts tomorrow. Onwards and upwards!
  22. If he signs today will he be eligible for the game tomorrow?
