  1. He looked suspect for our goal last week but not sure how good a defender he actually is?? He’s definitely a big lump who’s got a bit of dig and his height would be useful at set pieces. Wouldn’t be surprised if Robinson is sounding him out but hopefully better options for us out there.
  2. Newport have knocked back our offer for Norman so looks like he won’t be heading up here unfortunately. If we can manage to sign Gogic up that would be a massive boost. His energy and attitude has been brilliant. Looks like a real team player too. Imagine there might be a few teams in for him now it seems he’ll consider staying in Scotland.
  3. It’s hard to believe that Ethan is still only 20. I still think he has the attributes to be a top player but he seems to have hit the buffers, whether it’s due to attitude or coaching, it’s hard to say. Maybe a fresh start and a new environment is what he needs. He’s been with us since he was a wee kid and it’s possibly gone a wee bit stale. Would love to see him reach his full potential with us but it looks like he might need a move. Don’t know how happy he is with us?? Can Robinson get the best out of him? I know developing youngsters is rightly one of his priorities. If we can get a decent fee/sell on, it might be the best for both parties, but I’d be sorry to see him go as I’ve always had really high hopes for him.
  4. Think Saturday’s performance and result will give the team a nice wee injection of confidence and we will build on it against Dundee. Be nice to get one over McGhee but don’t mind Dundee too much, with wee Danny Mullen and Gowser in their team. 2-0 Saints
  5. The players definitely lifted their game yesterday and it was a mixture of relief, surprise and joy that we got the result. They finally put in a performance similar to how they were playing on the good run under Goodwin, a big part of it being really solid at the back. It has taken Robinson too long to get them ticking, probably due to his different style of man management and his formation but the players need to shoulder some of the blame. They turned it around and were excellent. His interviews after some of the defeats have been really poor too, but credit to him and the team for stepping up to the plate against the fakes. We picked up nearly every second ball in midfield and looked more assured at the back again. Tactics, formation and effort all spot on. We are normally terrible at Perth too but they definitely wanted it more which should be a big worry for St J fans. Goodwin signed Main who has been woeful, but it’s interesting that it’s Robinson that finally got the best out of him. I’m quite optimistic about the team that he might build next season, even if “The Hippo” is part of it. Hopefully this is the turning point that most of us didn’t see coming. A few more wins and climbing a couple of places in the league for prize money and momentum would be perfect now. We are now looking forward to another season in the topflight with time for the new manager to build his own team.
  6. Ya dancer. HUGE win. Looked much more like a team today. Wee mention for Main who most of us have rightly slated. He put in a great shift and caused their hammer throwers at the back bother all game. Well done to Kiltie for his goal too. Great result and improved performance and a relief to get out of the rut. Enjoy your wee glasses of something nice tonight Buddies. COYS(the real ones)
  7. I’d happily take a draw and no injuries or suspensions to our 2 remaining fit centre halves (touch wood). If the team can’t get themselves up for this one we’re in big trouble.
  8. Really flat from both teams and in the ground. Just need the ball to deflect of someone’s arse to scrape a victory. Good to have Tanser and Alnwick back. If all the scores stay the same it would be a decent day for us.
  9. Would love Mallan back. Like Ronan, has the ability to get a goal out of nothing and his obvious dead ball technique is a real asset. He also owes me a new pair of specs for the ones I broke in the scenes after ‘that’ goal at Dens.
  10. Great interview. Always comes across really well and a great player for us. Chuffed for him and completely deserved.
  11. Newell sent off in the semi there. Really let his team down. Will he be suspended for our game on Saturday now??? Could see that rocket Porteous following him in for an early bath. Hibs have actually looked very good today.
  12. Was superb for us and Salford. Apart from his obvious penalty saves and consistent lack of mistakes, he was amazing with the ball at his feet. Better passer than half the outfield players. Surprised he’s fallen out of favour at Ipswich but it can happen to keepers. I’m sure he could do a job for Aberdeen but wouldn’t like to see him back up here unless it’s in a Saints jersey, which won’t be happening anytime soon. Not sure how long he’s got left on his contract but he’ll be on a decent wedge at Ipswich.
  13. Although he had a dip in form before his suspension, I think the presence of Alnwick being back will be a big boost to the team (no disrespect to Lyness who on the whole has done a job for us). Hopefully Tanser will be available too. We’ve got to hope that the break and the start of a new mini league will be enough for Robinson to somehow lift the team. The carrot of a win to start this group of games is massive. Time to work on our defensive shape which has been shocking lately. Hopefully there will be a big crowd in and we can all get behind the team and shout them on to a victory. Another heavy defeat doesn’t bear thinking about. I’d really fear for us if we don’t improve our performances from the last few games. Squeaky bum time ahead.
  14. Agree that we are looking at a real possibility of the playoffs on our current trajectory. I don’t think we can afford to bin Robinson, both financially and reputation wise. He’s only been here for 9 games, but he’s turned the team into an absolute car crash. I was actually happy with his appointment, seemed a safe experienced pair of hands coming into a club that were on a strong run of form. His man management style seems to be similar to Stubbs and he’s obviously got it wrong. Yes, the players need to take a proper look at themselves but it’s a manager’s job to get the best out of his players’ effort and self-belief wise. He’s failed miserably and it only seems to be getting worse. I don’t buy all the chat saying they’re not his players. That shouldn’t matter; he’s getting paid to manage a group of professional footballers that are capable of so much more. He needs to somehow turn it around and get back to something like the first half against Utd. That second half and his post match interviews were a depressing turning point.
  15. Ronan and Gogic get pass marks today. Hard to see a way forward on the performance of the rest of them. 0-4 flatters us. The scale of the drop off in form is becoming unbelievable now. We are only heading one way at the moment. Is there any Buddie out there that thinks Robinson can turn this around?
  16. Tait plays a terrible pass and a promising attack breaks down. Rangers saunter up the park and when the ball comes in Tait is back in time but has left his man who balloons a tap in over the bar. It sums us up at the moment. Every aspect of our game is terrible and confidence is non existent. Soul destroying stuff.
  17. And he plays an extra minute beyond the added time. Do you think he would’ve have played the extra time if we were attacking?
  18. Beaton doesn’t even try to hide his bias. The pull back on Gogic early doors should’ve been a yellow never mind the freekick he didn’t give us and Brophy gets put in a neck brace and the foul goes to them. We’re bad enough without playing against 12 men.
  19. We are a total embarrassment. That goal was shocking defending on several levels…again. Jones totally left Tavenier, Kent in acres and free header from Roofe. Shocking stuff.
  20. Am I right in saying that fekin Beaton is in charge for this one? That must confirm the chances of the already inevitable pen for Sevco. The important thing about tomorrow is that the team are highly motivated and finally pull together to show a bit of desire and fight, something that hasn’t been on show under Robinson (other than the first half against the Arabs). Get fired right into them, nothing to lose and in Ronan, wee Henderson and Brophy we can hopefully get a goal or two from somewhere. Head says a heavy defeat, heart says 2-1 us.
  21. Not a bad result in Braga for us tonight. They should definitely have one eye on the return leg next week when they turn up in Paisley. Any wee advantage we can get…
  22. Aberdeen supporting pal saying that the Dons are offering £200k for Dunne. Interesting, if true of course.
  23. I believe Lasley comes from a St Mirren supporting family but not sure if he supported us growing up. That’s all immaterial to whether he has the experience and skill set do the job. It’s a big appointment for the club, so hopefully they get it right.
