  1. I’d happily take a draw and no injuries or suspensions to our 2 remaining fit centre halves (touch wood). If the team can’t get themselves up for this one we’re in big trouble.
  2. Really flat from both teams and in the ground. Just need the ball to deflect of someone’s arse to scrape a victory. Good to have Tanser and Alnwick back. If all the scores stay the same it would be a decent day for us.
  3. Would love Mallan back. Like Ronan, has the ability to get a goal out of nothing and his obvious dead ball technique is a real asset. He also owes me a new pair of specs for the ones I broke in the scenes after ‘that’ goal at Dens.
  4. Great interview. Always comes across really well and a great player for us. Chuffed for him and completely deserved.
  5. Newell sent off in the semi there. Really let his team down. Will he be suspended for our game on Saturday now??? Could see that rocket Porteous following him in for an early bath. Hibs have actually looked very good today.
  6. Was superb for us and Salford. Apart from his obvious penalty saves and consistent lack of mistakes, he was amazing with the ball at his feet. Better passer than half the outfield players. Surprised he’s fallen out of favour at Ipswich but it can happen to keepers. I’m sure he could do a job for Aberdeen but wouldn’t like to see him back up here unless it’s in a Saints jersey, which won’t be happening anytime soon. Not sure how long he’s got left on his contract but he’ll be on a decent wedge at Ipswich.
  7. Although he had a dip in form before his suspension, I think the presence of Alnwick being back will be a big boost to the team (no disrespect to Lyness who on the whole has done a job for us). Hopefully Tanser will be available too. We’ve got to hope that the break and the start of a new mini league will be enough for Robinson to somehow lift the team. The carrot of a win to start this group of games is massive. Time to work on our defensive shape which has been shocking lately. Hopefully there will be a big crowd in and we can all get behind the team and shout them on to a victory. Another heavy defeat doesn’t bear thinking about. I’d really fear for us if we don’t improve our performances from the last few games. Squeaky bum time ahead.
  8. Agree that we are looking at a real possibility of the playoffs on our current trajectory. I don’t think we can afford to bin Robinson, both financially and reputation wise. He’s only been here for 9 games, but he’s turned the team into an absolute car crash. I was actually happy with his appointment, seemed a safe experienced pair of hands coming into a club that were on a strong run of form. His man management style seems to be similar to Stubbs and he’s obviously got it wrong. Yes, the players need to take a proper look at themselves but it’s a manager’s job to get the best out of his players’ effort and self-belief wise. He’s failed miserably and it only seems to be getting worse. I don’t buy all the chat saying they’re not his players. That shouldn’t matter; he’s getting paid to manage a group of professional footballers that are capable of so much more. He needs to somehow turn it around and get back to something like the first half against Utd. That second half and his post match interviews were a depressing turning point.
  9. Ronan and Gogic get pass marks today. Hard to see a way forward on the performance of the rest of them. 0-4 flatters us. The scale of the drop off in form is becoming unbelievable now. We are only heading one way at the moment. Is there any Buddie out there that thinks Robinson can turn this around?
  10. Tait plays a terrible pass and a promising attack breaks down. Rangers saunter up the park and when the ball comes in Tait is back in time but has left his man who balloons a tap in over the bar. It sums us up at the moment. Every aspect of our game is terrible and confidence is non existent. Soul destroying stuff.
  11. And he plays an extra minute beyond the added time. Do you think he would’ve have played the extra time if we were attacking?
  12. Beaton doesn’t even try to hide his bias. The pull back on Gogic early doors should’ve been a yellow never mind the freekick he didn’t give us and Brophy gets put in a neck brace and the foul goes to them. We’re bad enough without playing against 12 men.
  13. We are a total embarrassment. That goal was shocking defending on several levels…again. Jones totally left Tavenier, Kent in acres and free header from Roofe. Shocking stuff.
  14. Am I right in saying that fekin Beaton is in charge for this one? That must confirm the chances of the already inevitable pen for Sevco. The important thing about tomorrow is that the team are highly motivated and finally pull together to show a bit of desire and fight, something that hasn’t been on show under Robinson (other than the first half against the Arabs). Get fired right into them, nothing to lose and in Ronan, wee Henderson and Brophy we can hopefully get a goal or two from somewhere. Head says a heavy defeat, heart says 2-1 us.
  15. Not a bad result in Braga for us tonight. They should definitely have one eye on the return leg next week when they turn up in Paisley. Any wee advantage we can get…
  16. Aberdeen supporting pal saying that the Dons are offering £200k for Dunne. Interesting, if true of course.
  17. I believe Lasley comes from a St Mirren supporting family but not sure if he supported us growing up. That’s all immaterial to whether he has the experience and skill set do the job. It’s a big appointment for the club, so hopefully they get it right.
  18. Wouldn’t like to see that table based on our games since Robinson came in.
  19. I’d be surprised if Robinson has told Tanser he doesn’t want him. Maybe his injury record is being considered? More likely that Tanser wants away. He’s a better player/option than the likes of Tait and Jones at the moment who’ll be on his bike anyway (was really excited about Jones when we first got him). Who knows what’s going on, but it’s a real worry looking at our dip in form. We need to get it sorted before we end up in the playoffs. The difference in a single league position’s prize money can be the budget for one or two new players too, which is important to a club our size.
  20. Those are worrying comments that have the whiff of a struggling Neil Lennon about them. Not my fault, it’s the players. He doesn’t interview as well as Goodwin, Ross or Kearney. He was obviously p*ssed off with his team today but managers normally back their players publicly. Good chance the players that he’s already told aren’t getting their contracts renewed have their “heads turned”. Looks from the outside looking in that the players who were used to Goodwin’s man management style are struggling to adjust. Hope he knows what he’s doing, but looks like he’s planning a proper clear-out in the summer to put his “stamp on it”.
  21. The biggest factor in our current slide was Goodwin leaving. Robinson has come in and has a very different persona and style to Goodwin. He has a good squad but for whatever reason they haven’t clicked for him. He changed a formation that had us on a great run although the margins are really slim in games. The players don’t seem as motivated or as together and the fact that Robinson had already told players that they won’t be kept on seems weird timing. Goodwin was no Pep but he had finally got they us winning and the defence was really solid. They were horrific today. I think if he hadn’t headed up north we would be sitting comfortably in the top 6. Hopefully Robinson gets things turned around before we end up in the playoff spot. His report card so far is poor even if they aren’t his players. Last game we gave Utd their first away win since well before Christmas and today Motherwell their first win this year. Obviously agree that Robinson needs to be judged once he’s put together his own squad, starting with a keeper. He definitely needs time and lots of it by the looks of things so far.
  22. Absolute shambles. We don’t look like a team anymore. Even when we score the players don’t look that fussed. Everything looks really flat on the pitch and on our bench. Players just going through to be motions. Brophy really unlucky with the one that hit the post but very few positives other than him. Defence had been really poor and Lyness is a bombscare. Looks like Well are on course for their first win of the year.
  23. Covid? Just guessing, seems strange that they are all missing. Can’t all be injured after the break surely.
