  1. Last time Carey was here I was saddened that we didn't put his long throw to use. It seemed that Lennon & Craig didn't want the long throw to be part of their ridiculous attempts to play like Barcelona. Hopefully Ian Murray will have more sense. Carey has a great long throw. Get the ball into the f**king box and cause some mayhem!
  2. Don't want to piss on the parade too much but we need to remember that Sir Thommo of Hawk is now 36 and had a bad season last season due to injuries. Kenny Miller & Kris Boyd delivered miserable returns in the Championship last season despite turning out for the third based side in the league. Kris Boyd had just come off a decent scoring season in the SPL with a struggling side. We shouldn't put TOO much pressure on Sir Thommo bagging us a load of goals. The manager needs to deliver another forward who can help The Hawk out. That being said, I actually DO think he'll score a decent number of goals.
  3. mmmm Div's website skills, santaponsa saint cross dressing... Maybe we've upon an idea that REALLY will make the club money!
  4. No chance. Transgender cross dressing will violate their dress code.
  5. Totally agree. Let's stop abusing fellow buds. Apart from faraway saint. I hate him.
  6. Cheers mate. Always a bit daunting being a newbie on a forum.
  7. Because you are the one who appears to have an issue with the loans and interest. Nobody else does! If you have some proof of the directors being on the 'gravy train' as you are accusing then post the proof.
  8. No, it was YOU in your original post who accused the board if being on the 'gravy train'. Yes, it is indeed a fact that the directors loaned the club money and charged interest. Personally I don't have a problem with that. What I want to know from you is what facts you have to back up your accusation that the directors are on the 'gravy train'.
  9. You have made several points which aren't fact at all. Your problem is that no one else has a problem with the directors per se lending the club money and charging interest. If have some irrefutable proof that the directors have lent the club money solely for personal gain then please post it.
  10. Do you know for a fact that any lending facilities WOULD lend the club money? What I do know for a fact is that the club have borrowed money from certain shareholders in the past because they couldn't borrow from anywhere else. I also know for a fact the club have attempted to move away from the Clydesdale bank in the past and no-one would touch the club. And that was an aside anyway. My main point was that any commercial interest rate would likely be very steep. I'm certain in my mind that when the directors lend the club money Tha its a last resort and at terms more favourable than can be obtained elsewhere. I have 20 20 vision on this one.
  11. I would hazard a guess that if the directors have lent the club money then the interest they charged will be less than the interest the club would have paid had they been able to find a commercial lender willing to lend to the club. But, of course, the reason the directors themselves lend the club money is because there aren't any commercial lenders willing to lend the club any money! And the money the directors lend the club may well have been borrowed by themselves personally. I'm pretty certain that if Lord Pityme wishes to 'have a bit of the action' and lend the club some money then the directors will bite his hand off.
  12. Not even under 13s talk like you!
  13. I think its very difficult to look at the past 30 years on a like for like basis. Many of our rivals were either bankrolled by rich businessmen or families or had rich businessmen who were able to secure them very large borrowing facilities. The likes of Dundee, Motherwell, Kilmarnock & Dunfermline all spring to mind. Dundee & Dunfermline eventually suffered as a result while Motherwell have spectactularly got away with it. I always think a good comparison for Saints has been Partick Thistle. A similar sized club in terms of support and no rich backers. I know they are now in the top flight while we are in the second tier but I think that St. Mirren have achieved far more in the past 30 years than Partick Thistle. 2 major trophies, more seasons in the top flight, higher league finishes certainly.
  14. The starting positions for Gus Mapherson & Danny Lennon were very very different. Gus took over when we were in a third successive battle against relegation, had £3 million of debt and no training facilities. Danny took over from a starting position of our highest league position in 20 years, reaching cup finals for the first time in almost a quarter of a century, established in the top flight for 4 years, no debt and top of the range training facilities. In terms of the "rank rotten football on display" then I think this would need to be viewed against the standard of football that St. Mirren were playing for most the of the 15 years prior to Gus Macpherson's appointment and the standard on view after Danny Lennon left. Back in 1991 Alan Curbishley took over Charlton Athletic in England's third tier. He quickly won them 2 successive promotions and established them in the top flight of English football. They effectively got rid of him in 2006 because fans wanted the club to 'kick on'. They were back in the third tier within 4 years of his departure.
  15. I am fully behind Murray. At least until we see how results go. However, I totally berated tommy craig's appointment last season. Are folk not allowed an opinion? I thought that was what this forum was all about!
  16. Yet, in his last season, we had our highest league finish in two decades, reached our first major cup final in 23 years and had our biggest league victory over Celtic in 115 years. And all achieved just 5 years after being in our third successive battle against relegation to the Second Division.
  17. A bit like yourself. Why don't you get a job in the real world instead of sponging off hard working taxpayers and spouting laughable pish on this website. Dimwit. No need to reply, I never read them.
  18. I know a number of Tories who voted SNP in order to help get a Tory government at Westminster.
  19. Ernie, stop making a fool of yourself yet again.
  20. The SNP took 94% of the seats in Scotland. I don't know of any party in this country, this lifetime , ever gaining such a large percentage of seats . Yet we have a Conservative government. I suppose that is what seriously annoys , some people. .
