  1. You're wrong there. Thats a false comparison. People are going to stand regardless. So the real safety comparison is: Do you want people standing at seats or do you want people standing at "safe standing"? The latter is clearly safer and therefore worth the 50 quid.
  2. The fact that stadium improvements were mentioned again today without being asked specifically about it, suggests its back on the table and been discussed again since the celtic/rangers fans issue.
  3. Or maybe more likely he thinks top 4 is realistic
  4. It wouldn't hurt to do a Donati style sort of deal. I'd have much more confidence that Miller would be able to contribute than I had about Donati when we signed him.
  5. Considering he was still in that rangers team till he fell out with them he'd definitely do a job for us. It's low risk as well. Out of contract now and obviously would only be a 1 year deal.
  6. Great interview by Jack. What a legend! Just when I'm starting to get over him leaving he goes and does an interview like that....
  7. The apethy towards him by some fans just because he wants to keep his options open is ridiculous. When was the last time we had a player score 20+ goals in a season? The thing teams down the bottom half of the table always struggle with is scoring goals. We've been there plenty of times before. Reilly is a proven goalscorer. We should be going all out to convince him to sign.
  8. Underwhelmed at this but we'll need to get behind him. At least it wasn't Gary Caldwell. Since Neilson pulled out as he thinks our top 6 aims are unrealistic, this presumably means Stubbs is on board with our top 6 plans. So that will do for me!
  9. It's nothing to do with how he interviews. He just seems so uninspiring and dull. I could never imagine him motivating and firing up a group of players. He's not the type of guy with great charisma I can see players itching to play for. His personality was a kind of side point anyway because admittedly its mostly speculation. You never know what these guys are like behind closed doors. The main point was more about his record which is poor IMO. I'm not giving him any credit at all for coming ahead of McCoists shocking Sevco side which were in total meltdown at the time.
  10. Ehh....then the next season he didn't get them out the league either and didn't even finish 2nd. He came 3rd behind Falkirk. Then made an absolute arse of it at Rotherham. Theres one thing going to England and failing but failing in the spectacular manner he did is another. He has zero personality as well. He's about as inspirational as a cardboard box.
  11. Very disappointed in GS interview. Seems lacking in ambition to me tbh. I'm sure these guys know some good foreign youngsters they could bring in on the cheap. It's not like they only know superstars out with our budget
  12. I highly doubt it, but it's a mute point anyway because he left for personal reasons and not money.
  13. But not higher than St Mirren's average attendance which is the whole issue here.
  14. Valid facts but the debate was about League Two, not League one
  15. Pretty underwhelmed by that list tbh. Stubbs would be a distant 4th for me. The rest are all kind of on the same level.
  16. Wow. How exciting That sort of mentality is the problem with Scottish Football. We've got a 3 time champions league winner interested and people would rather we hired Jim McIntrye and finished 8th.
  17. If we finish 11th, the manager (whoever it is) will get sacked.
  18. I think Ally deserves another chance in management because that rangers situation was just a total clusterf**k with so many problems unrelated to football going on in the background. I just dont want him to get that chance with us at the moment. We've got too much to lose. Maybe if we were still in the championship he would be worth a punt - but not now.
  19. What's he ever done? That u21 job the same as any other national teams u21s job is a total non entity of a job. No pressure, no targets, no buying and selling players, nobody demands results, no fans etc. We need an actual real manager not just a guy who is a coach which are ten a penny.
  20. He got them promoted then kept them up. They weren't in the relegation places this season when he left so I wouldn't say he done a bad job. I wouldn't expect any Barnsley fan to have anything positive to say about him after the way he left for one of their biggest rivals.
  21. He would be a good option. Done well at Barnsley. Why on earth would anybody take that Leeds job though?
  22. That's some conclusion you've drawn just based on observations like that I'm sure he'll manage again. I just hope it's not at St Mirren.
  23. So Hopkin has missed out on that Shrewsbury job and the Morton one gone as well. People complain about JR's lack of loyalty. Thats nothing on the scale of Hopkins lack of loyalty to Livi. He's not even got a club to go to and he couldn't get away from Livi quick enough. Maybe he's bought into his own hype. I hope GLS is taking note and goes nowhere near him. The first sniff of anything slightly better and he would be off.
  24. You'd probably have more chance of getting it than Craig Brewster
