  1. It still is along with energus across the road next to which is the secondary school which I mentioned, now being doubled the size. And if everything goes wrong there is always the bus depot next door........... And have me as a new driver mentor😉
  2. Not forgetting the old H+S brigade came into play and probably stopped most of the old tech work in secondary schools. H+S is surely basic common sense. Certainly when I finished my apprenticeship as a diesel fitter there wasn't too many places then that did full engine recons on the scale we did at Hillington and new jobs in sphere were very few and far between. Even now the technology has moved on so far that even I would have some catching up to do.
  3. To be fair one of the main sponsors was Sellafield Ltd who must have realised that there was going to be a shortage tradewise especially on site in the future and decided to take the bull by the horns, and good on them. Once they were involved a lot of the main contractors on site followed suit.
  4. Brexit is a strange one @faraway saint we were divided here with Mrs CS voting for it and me against. Purely, for me anyway it was down to driving regs of which no doubt @antrin will agree that the domestic GB ones are brutal. And with that no doubt there would be some freight movers starting to use these to their advantage along with mist bus and coach operators.
  5. Totally agree. Take where I live, there has been a huge push to getting back to traditional trades as suddenly they penny dropped to a whole generation missed with in the first instance a new secondary school built which focuses on engineering along with the curriculum, close by it a post school age training centre which local companies sponsor and offer apprenticeships from.
  6. Yeah, it doesn't read good. However things like this have been 30+ years in the making with the loss or decline of trades and experienced, competent people in higher positions within such companies. And replaced by number crunchers generally with not much experience with the practicalities of what the actual job entails.
  7. Good job we all don't have the same views or life would be very boring. 👍
  8. Erm yes I am. We have a team capable of top 6, we have staff at the club who know how effective the team can be but we now have a manager and assistant who certainly seem hell bent on ignoring any of it. I know what you were getting at by our result against Dundee but we were as rancid as they were on the night. Worryingly now JG got his first win yesterday and no doubt start to drive confidence through them. Also Davidson got a win with the fakes too and he is known for getting it right at this point of season, last one for example where they caught us and passed us.
  9. For me SR should have 2 games to save his job by somehow winning both and getting top 6 places. It won't happen both team wise and his job. Might get a result against Motherwell but absolutely no chance against Rangers with the team the way it is. My honest prediction is and it really kills me to do it but we will be in relegation playoff with SR in charge, he has ripped the confidence out of the team. There is a stark contrast in fortunes of 2 clubs that changed manager at about the same time. Us and down here, carlisle. They have a previous manager in charge now and have won 5 out of 6, getting the best out of an ex saints striker. Might get slated for it being a poorer league, etc but their confidence was shot to bits prior whereas we have a manager that has done opposite. If anyone gets chance there is a huge difference in the Paul Simpson interviews on their YouTube channel and what Stephen Robinson comes out with. One openly blames players and others doesn't, who do you think gets the best out what he has.
  10. Well I wasn't going to comment on THAT today but jeez what a complete balls up of a management recruitment this is going to be imo. We are in relegation form at moment. Does SR not realise that the players that are at the club were brought in to play a certain way which might not have been good on the eye but effective. Whatever has happened, the players aren't doing it for this guy and instead of a new manager bounce, we have a new manager crash.
  11. Agree with it being frantic and both teams going for it, no cagey stuff.
  12. Could it be that the team are being encouraged to be more attacking and maybe the defence isn't quite as solid as we thought being more exposed. Don't forget JG coached them to be more compact, etc.
  13. Defo worth a punt til the end of season imo. Fit free agent now.
  14. The players look drained of all confidence under Robinson
  15. You would have hoped the coaching staff had also briefed him regarding the different formations and the results. Maybe they have tried.
  16. I think that finding a way to win opposed to scraping by sounds better although means same thing really. Do I think we would have faired better under JG........quite possibly as I think it would have been a better team performance instead of more disjointed by players pushing to impress the new gaffer and having the opposite effect really. Let's hope it settles a bit for next 2 big games
  17. I'm not saying JG didn't have his faults but I would have loved to hear or see the team tactics for this one."let's always have 3 players running towards the ball, then when celtic pass leave 20 yards with nobody there for them to run into" Not the best start considering he started with a winning team.........
  18. Absolutely, honest to god I've never seen more blatant play acting. What a fanny
  19. Whereas down here yet another managerial change at carlisle and bringing back Paul Simpson seems to have a positive effect could be 2 wins in a row and up the table. Kristian Dennis starts again......
  20. They are making hard work if it 1-1 now
  21. Yeah he was up against coulson ...........2 players that had been at saints
  22. Quite possibly when Robinson was at Motherwell he had to have a higher turnover of players to try and get the right balance, a bit like us really a few years back. What I do hope is that whoever he does bring in, we do it as soon as we can so the team gells for the start of the season. A bit like with JR when we won the championship.
  23. Agree with the point about Gogic as 8 think he would be a longer term signing than Power. The good thing is there seems to be more players moving about at end if contracts than there used to be opposed to transfer fees which I'm sure Robinson has a few targets being in efl lg1/2 and national league having been involved with at morecambe who don't have a high budget either. Dont know if anyone watches much efl stuff but McKirdy at Swindon certainly does seem to be a player that would fit in well with us imo.
