Much as I like your thinking Southside, Serbia are in League C with us for a reason, so I suspect that they are probably as likely to qualify through the normal route as we are. Like you say though, we won't be completely dead.

Is it just me or is anyone else confused why so many commentators, pundits and even ordinary punters seem hell bent on overcomplicating this Nations League thing and making the qualification process seem to be like rocket science? I agree JM1. More proficient divers are what we need. Our cheats are so rubbish compared to everyone else’s cheats. How are we supposed to get loads of penalties we don’t deserve unless we up our game in this area. Where are all the young budding John MacDonalds and Jurgen Klinnsmans these days. As for my opinion of Thommo... Adored him as a player. When he he first started broadcasting I though he had a clear talent for it and would do well. Now (in my opinion) he is fast joining the ranks of all the other self important, blowhard pundits and he is developing his wankword bingo vocabulary brilliantly. Throw in the ageing hipster look and it becomes even more irritating. On the basis of all of that, I continue to think he will be very successful in his chosen field.

Shull definitely has a problem with the difference between disagreeing with someone and not letting them have an opinion. If he followed his own logic, that would basically mean that in disagreeing with just about every poster on here, in relation to just about every topic, he is in effect denying people the right to an opinion. Which of course he isn’t. He’s just disagreeing with them. I think his rules only apply to other people.

In fairness I think the point he was making is that if there isn’t much between the two players, then he’d rather we developed our player instead of someone else’s. Whether there’s not much difference between the two players is obviously a matter of opinion.
