  1. Got £66 back for a £15 bet and got comps so rather a good away day , Goodwin , Naismith and McGinn were immense , their goal was a blattant foul on Kello , we played really well , with six homegrown players in the starting line up , and a very young team , Craigs substitutions were a masterclass , things not looking so bad this week .
  2. If that's the case , can the media not say something alomg the lines of " a 29yr old male has been charged with racism at New St Mirren Park in relation to an incident on Saturday 27 September " Aplologies to all males , as I probably should have said person , and also apologies towards anyone between the ages of 24 to 37 as I wouldn,t wan,t to be seen as ageist .
  3. iTony I don,t think FTOF is trying to Justify Racial Abuse , I think he is trying to identify when the reported offence took place , so he can give his opinion in a sort of informed way .
  4. Also Aberdeen should have had two players sent off , so if it had been a proper ref we would have won
  5. Maybe give him a wee try out as a right winger .
  6. The stats for last nights game were similar to the stats when we played Dundee at home , yet the pundits decide Dundee get a well earned three points in Paisley and we steal a point at Aberdeen .
  7. Great result away from home , bearing in mind how many players we have out , a wee win on Saturday will do nicely
  8. Thought Reilly played okay on Saturday , showed a bit of potential and almost scored a cracking goal , the problem isn,t Reilly , its the overall quality of the squad.
  9. Very disappointed if that's the case, hope the cameras have good footage , amazing what one so called fan can do for a teams reputation
  10. That's how I saw it , there were chants of cheat , and he seemed to smile at the crowd , he certainly didn,t look upset , there were individuals who who were certainly angry at him , but that wasn,t because of his race , it was because he was blatantly cheating.
  11. that was only 25 years ago Ally . totally agree with the racism thing ,and that there is no place for it in football , and the fact that we have a few arseholes about the west bank , but I,m not convinced about the monkey noises etc on Saturday , I,m sure the pro Celtic TV pundits would have delighted in picking that up on the sound monitors on saturday. just heard the news on the radio and it was monkey chants from the crowd that the complaint was about , the only chanting from the crowd on Saturday was a chorus of the Saints when we scored , and a chorus of Cheat , after Van Dijk made a meal out of a bad tackle. It shouldn,t be too difficult to check the footage etc , as we all seem to agree on the incident .
  12. Wasn,t much chanting from the crowd , never is these days , the Guillit incident happened 30 odd years ago , but the worst racism I,ve ever seen n Scottish football was the hail of bananas thrown at Mark Walters when he visited Parkhead , and I wonder why no one ever refers to that
  13. Late on in the game Van Dijk went down and milked a challenge to try and waste time , the ref waved play on and Celtic kicked the ball out , Van Dijk was booed by the crowd and called a cheat , and he looked up and smiled . That's what I saw from my seat , it might not be the incident that is being referred to , and it may be the case that he saw something else when he glanced up at the crowd , to see who was booing him . Was probably in the front rows of W2.
  14. If Van Dijk was verbally abused then that's disgusting , as is referring to something that happened 30 odd years ago . I could have predicted something like this happening , as it deflects from the Tonev racism incident , I remember van Dijk being jeered after he cheated , what was he doing looking at the crowd , and how did he manage to spot the individual in the crowd being racist .
  15. nice touches , no confidence , no bottle , needs to go out on loan to toughen up
  16. I think there are lots of lessons to be learned from our past , and from previous boards of directors , and also from other teams like Hearts , Dunfermline , Falkirk , Dundee , Partick Thistle etc , With this in mind I would like to think that any new owners will be aware of the pitfalls to avoid , and also where the best opportunities to improve St Mirren lie. Boards of Directors and New Owners come and go , but the fans and the club will always be there . Whilst the last Board of Directors have been excellent for the club , a wee change might not be a bad thing , especially if it improves the quality of the team that we put on the park .
  17. Would St Mirren only be at risk if the new owners went bankrupt ? I suppose a new B of D could pay themselves inflated wages , but realistaically they need to put a decent product on the park to generate any real income. I don,t think anyone would buy St Mirren thinking they have made a killing from the land value . My feeling is we are due a wee change and a wee bit of freshness , wouldn,t be a bad thing.
  18. think maybe left mid , in front of Tess , with the players switching positions and covering for each other might work , Sean Kelly also has not a bad shot on him , and plays with a bit of confidence , as for Reilly , get him loaned out , to a team that might want to sign him if the loan goes well
  19. I,d rather see Sean Kelly in his position , not too sure how it would work out , but I would rather have a big confident lad , who is not frightened to run with the ball on the pitch , than a player totally low on confidence
  20. Hoping the reliable source says that its good guys taking over
  21. Thought Osborne was excellent , think theres potential to get Kelly in instead of Wilde , and maybe give Marwood a tryout on the right wing ,Ball looked very good when he come on , and should improve as he gains in fitness , great to see McGinn look more like himself , thinking we could take something at Aberdeen , we do though desperately need a fit Stephen Thompson .
  22. watched the game last night , we got beat 2 - 1 , Sean Kelly played well and would be worth a shout instead of Cheesy , he pushed forward from the centre half position quite often in the second half , and got into good positions , I think this would work if he played in a back three with Plummer and Goody , with Tess and Naismith as wingbacks.
  23. Thinking a back three of Goodwin , Naismith and Plummer , wing backs from Teale , Wilde , Drury , Tesseler or Kelly , Osborne as a holding midfielder , wit McLean and Mcginn as attacking midfielders , and Ball with either Marwood or Caldwell up front , Thinking that's the best formation with the players we have a available , and our best attacking move being one of the central defenders breaking out of defence with ball , and continuing to drive forward , a bit like Broadfoot and McGregor used to do
  24. Im 55 years old , and today is the first time I ever left a match before the final whistle , can,t make my mind up why I did it , was it because we were shite . or was it to get a good position to leave the carpark..
  25. worth taking on and putting on a similar contract as one of our up and coming youngsters , he did okay coming off the bench for Jambos last season , and could develop into a decent experience , the guy that sits next to me in W3 knows him well , and says he,s a decent lad , so wouyldn,t be the worst signing
