Does anyone know : Why was the No4 from queens so eager to sprint 70 yards to shout & bawl at cheesy when he was felled on the 18 yard box in the 1st half ? They played together at queens in 2009 but the reaction seemed a bit OTT.

I agree that plastic pitches , no matter the quality will never be a subtitute for a GOOD QUALITY grass pitch. But which would you prefer, Motherwells pitch from 2 years ago , Tannadice sand pit from years gone by or Todays surface ( which i believe is the same as the pitch at Ralston) I can fully understand why teams from the lower leagues install plastic, lost revenue from cancelled/abandoned games can cripple these teams so from that angle, plastic 4g ,5g or whatever makes sense.

Bull Inn defo your best bet. Dont get too near the open fire though , if you get too cosy you might just decide to stay there & catch the scores on Sky Sports !!

For those wanting a Beer: The Bazaar on Whitesands is a queens/footy pub. cramped on match days but behave & you will be very welcome. The Bruce (wetherspoons) on Buccleuch street is 5 mins walk. OK but typical spoons. Cavens arms buccleuch street. Good grub , good beer . Not really a footy pub. Avoid : The worlds end , whitesands. Name says it all. Across the brig near the ground : Market street / galloway st. Youve got the Spread Eagle, The salutation ,The Globe & the devorgilla. All just two mins walk from the ground, can be a bit rough but after a couple d`you really care? Then of course if your feeling lucky , theres always the Hole in the `Wa (or Middle Earth ) up the high street

Lived in Dumfries for 21 years & regularly made the journey : 1 Hr 45 mins from paisley to Palmerston easy. Agree that if coming from Ardrossan ferry , the scenic route is quicker. Best though to take the A76 through cumnock etc.
