  1. Not often you feel a sense of sadness when a politician dies, but yesterday I was a tad moved when I was watching the tributes to her on TV. Old Bernard P on STV was particularly sincere.
  2. Was called Joe Allen's before Lush. Was owned by ex-football player, Alan Mackin.
  3. I prefer to hear loud singing supporting the team, rather than an incessant, monotone banging noise for 90 minutes. Apologies for having different preferences to you.
  4. Was called "Make for the border" IIRC. Tex/Mex themed.
  5. The Earl of Cranby and The Latin Quarter were at their peak at the same time as Shuttles. I'm beginning to think that I've frequented a lot of pubs in the past and that's not even mentioning the endless hours spent in Corkers when the football team I ran played out of there for 7 years.
  6. If the answer isn't in the Big Fairytale Book of UK Economics, then he's f**ked.
  7. Used to go to the Watermill on a Friday night for a spell when I was 18/19. Met Dave McPherson on his stag night in there. It was just him and Craig Moore. We used to nip up to the The Friars on a Saturday night as it opened later than the pubs in the town centre. Spent most of the night trying to deflect peanuts from entering your pint.
  8. Cannes in Forbes Place was a another place I frequented in the 80's, then upstairs to Backchat. The bean bags were difficult to cope with when you were pished. Used to converse with Mr.McAvennie in there quite often.
  9. I believe that's what it was called before it became hip and trendy, with a requirement for wearing the "Miami vice" jacket and t-shirt ensemble.
  10. What was the name of the pub that was across from The Bull? It eventually became the shish mahal. Was it Minstrels? We used to drink in there too. We knew the barmaid in there and used to get more back in change than we handed over for payment. Endless cans of Schlitz (whatever happened to it?) were downed in there.
  11. La Rendezvous was the bit we used to frequent. Used to be a group of us from the golf club who went there frequently. Most of us were overage, but there were a couple who constantly walked the tightrope of being knocked back. Also, I'm sure in the early 00's it was briefly a tapas restaurant called La Coccina.
  12. A great place. Definitely a trendy pub. Great, relaxed atmosphere. They used to have a bus which took you to The Cotton Club near closing time.
  13. Hate Friday night football. Even worse since Friday the 25th is the beer festival. Given the shite football I've had to endure this year, it looks like beer is going to triumph over football.
  14. Looks like there's a fair bit of sphincter twitching happening amongst the "No" camp as the BT propagandists continue to further the "Yes" cause with their lies and negativity.
  15. Stomach muscle injury. Another two weeks at least.
  16. Don't think it's really any worse than doing it through the media TBH. If he wants to continue lining his pockets with the minimum of hassle, then he's entitled to do so. Let's face it, he's not going to be affected negatively by welfare crack downs or London centric business policies designed to make business leaders even richer than they already are.
  17. PDE article states that there was an arrest warrant issued as he failed to turn up in court for a speeding charge.
  18. McDowall Street. Used to drink in there on a Friday night on the odd occasion.
  19. Indeed. That's where it moved after the closing of the Lounsdale Road venture.
  20. It does however seems to have sparked a blame war amongst the quite obviously divided Better "Together" camp and has plenty of the big guns wetting their knickers in public. Highly amusing and yet another example of a BT gaffe which could prove to be significant in influencing undecided voters.
