He's a defender on his Granny's side. He's a midfielder and does a good job when he's the sitting midfielder , he is never a defender , too much of a liability and takes too many chances.

You make one of the important points, Goodwin is indeed a defensive midfielder , IMO he shouldn't be playing in the back four just because he can get by playing there. A new experienced central defender should be brought in ,thus enabling Goodwin to play the position that got him his lucrative contract in the first place.

Yes , Newcastle were delighted with Abeid's progress at the fakes , he's away on a season long loan to Paanathanaikos now and Newcastle see him as a potential first teamer next season !

Don't forget that they seem to have good contacts at Newcastle too , probably because Tommy Wright had two spells there as a player !

Sadly we're now leaving it to other clubs to help us get things right on the pitch , instead of going out , identifying targets and signing them. There were plenty players available and other SPL clubs seem to be getting some promising ones in , while we sit and wait on Kinnear and Pardew to throw us some crumbs !

That's the problem , it's not just one game , if it was then the criticism would be uncalled for. It's about the way the team/club has been run over the last few months. The alarm bells have been ringing loud and clear although some turn a blind eye ! (or a deaf ear) :-)

We're turning into a Conference type club , cobble together a team of young boys and one year contracts on the cheap while borrowing players here there and everywhere . Apart from McGinn there's nothing to suggest that we have long term plans to build a side !

Correct , we were still paying him the following season when he was doing media work. I believe that Danny's contract is similar. For someone to say that St Mirren aren't a sacking club is laughable , in the last 40 years only Alex Miller and Iain Munro moved from us to another job within the game , the rest , before and after , were bagged !
