  2. Okay , it doesn't actually specify but I remember them saying at the time , 4500 Buddies. I'd put my wages on it , but that crowd were fantastic , a core support giving there all and to be honest that day was just as sweet as the final , moreover because we led the match from the 8th minute and never went behind plus it was the first time Danny had led the team to victory against that mob. . 3. Very good Garzo. I have seen the Laynes before , good stuff. .
  4. I've always thought that we all sang more when we are at Love Street. There are often too many quite spells at Saint Mirren Park. Singing the songs is part of the enjoyment as far as l'm concerned but even if it means that l going home hoarse or l have lost my voice as was the case twice at Hampden this year. . The 4500 who made there way to the semi-final did us all proud as we drowned out the noise of around 20,000 timothies that day . So based on that we are all capable of making ourselves heard and getting behind the team . COYS. .
  5. I think it is usually done by the guys in the shop , just after purchase. . Why not do it yerself , big fella. .
  6. By all intents, it looks like pm's have already been sent , so everything is bubbling away nicely. .
  7. I was born in Elderslie myself and am well aware of the hoose you speak of. I was never in it and I know it wasn't Bill's tho' , it was on the same site. I remember hearing that Reo Stakis wanted to turn the house into a restaurant , at which point the council promptly demolished it. .
  8. None of those names , not at all. . It would have been Billzo. .
  9. You will be okay. The word Ellerslie , didn't appear on Ayrshire maps until the 18th c, long after Bill had gone. .
  10. You are right , they did play well , even if I don't like saying so . . I think Shull means that smeltic are not a Scottish club because they are an Irish club , something like that. .
  11. Of course. However , the other thing that is often not realised is that there is even more of Stonehenge below ground than is seen on the surface. . The word "henge" is from the ancient word for , subway station. Stonehenge was originally a subway station back in the days when the subway system was extensive and there was even a station in Paisley , just outside the Tartan bar in the West End. .
  12. No Lemmy had flu' at the time , so , it was Joe Satriani instead. .
  13. Left to what? The Iran/Iraq war lasted 8yrs with the frequent use of chemical warfare and apart from America supplying Iraq at times the West never got involved. .
  14. And , especially as the Druids didn't exist at the time of the first Stonehenge. .
  15. I don't disagree with anything you said there , Ian . What I will say again tho' is that , I'd be very surprised if Danny Boy leaves or is sacked at least before November. . As I said , if he can bring some personnel in in the next couple of days that can make an impact , then in a couple of months time we will have forgotten about this , if he fails to deliver then we will be facing what will seem like a rather long autumn. A win on Saturday and some new personnel could turn things around for Danny and us but whatever happens on Saturday , we will be in a better position as fans to see how things are likely to pan out. .
  16. Whilst Thommo has a part to play in closing games out , it would hardly be his sole job , even with his experience . It is a team sport and the full team have a part to play in closing the game out . It must be frustrating for him when he scores a goal only to see the team concede one a couple of minutes later, his good work seemingly undone. . As far as the rumours are concerned, l too hope that they are shite , just made up shite. .
  17. I hope that is true and that Danny does indeed turn things around . .
  18. Last season we had the best squad I have seen at Saint Mirren for years which , was instrumental in giving us our historic Cup victory and much rejoicing . However , in League duties , we still only managed 11th despite other clubs having weaker squads and one club having financial melt down. . On the telly recently Steven Thompson said that we needed to be able to close games out that we were winning instead of them turning into defeats or draws. This hasn't been addressed. . To be fair , I'd be very surprised if the BoD were to sack Danny now, as I think they do hold him in high regard but Danny now only has a couple of days to bring in a couple of players that can make a difference/shore things up. What he does in the next couple of days could well determine his future when we approach the next transfer window in mid season but by then it may well be an uphill struggle to get it sorted and we may well find ourselves facing play-offs or worse at the end of the season. .
  19. If l remember correctly , Butcher only came in halfway thro' the season when Caley looked doomed and then almost saved them on the last day of the season . then he brought them straight back up the following season which is a very difficult task. .
