  1. If you look at how we have played in the cups this year we have beaten 4 SPL teams higher up in the league than us between the League Cup and the Scottish Cup: Aberdeen away, Celtic at Hampden, Hearts yesterday and St Johnstone at home in the SC. What would people prefer... we lost in the cup and had no final to remember and no QF tie against Celtic (where we were unlucky not to at least get a replay), and get wins against those teams in the league and be 12 points better off and level with Ross County on 45 points in the battle for 4th place?
  2. Well done Danny Lennon and Tommy Craig... and the BoD for keeping the faith in the autumn.
  3. It's not often I post on this thread when we lose a game but I thought today was the second game in a row against Celtic where Danny Lennon got the tactics spot on and where they team played well and had a right good go at Celtic. Hooper hit the bar and samson maybe made one good save but despite losing a couple of poor early goals I never felt we were heading for a tanking and thought McGowan, Teale, McGinn, Newton, THompson and Goncalves all had good solid games without quite hitting the same heights they hit at Hampden. We finished the stronger side and Carey's effort from the free kick would have beaten most other SPL keepers. Onwards and upwards.
  4. Well done Danny and the team. Brave starting XI with lots of changes and still good enough to beat Hearts at a canter, but can you imagine the outcry if Hearts had won when Thomspon and Goncalves were dropped to the bench? If we win our game in hand Abedeen, Dundee United and Killie may all just and no more become catchable before the split!
  5. Lovely article: http://blogs.channel4.com/alex-thomsons-view/rangers-public-wrangle-400000/4098
  6. There was me thinking you reckon Danny should be sackd because of his post-match interviews?
  7. Thought Carey may have been today's hero and a decent shout for MOTM alongside McGowan. I was expecteing Carey to be our weakest link but he won lots of great tackles, tracked back well and was solid defensively and did well going forward.
  8. Danny Lennon looks to have unearthed a gem wouldn't you say?
  9. Time to give DL and TC credit where it is due. They set the team out perfectly today to make us solid and hard to beat but with plenty of threat from Goncalves and Teale on the flanks and McGowan breaking forward from midfield. Maybe now DL has earned a few weeks off from being called Wee Clueless from Tedious Tom and his ilk.
  10. Some of the teams above us could lose a few players during the January transfer window. Motherwell only have 2 senior pros signed up beyond this summer. We are now 6 points behind 5th place Aberdeen with 30 points to play for. I expect Dundee United to improve a bit between now and the split and to move from bottom 6 to top 6 but reckon Aberdeen, Hibs, ICT could all struggle to do as well after the winter shutdown as they did before it.
  11. Well done on a great performance and home win against second placed Motherwell and a great performance and draw away against second placed ICT. The 6 game losing streak is beginning to look like it was just a blip, with just 1 defeat (away to Celtic) in 6 SPL games. 6 SPL games ago we faced the prospect of being overtaken by Dundee had we lost that game, (and the forum users who place a lot of stock in 'recent form' were banging on about our run of defeats and Dundee's 3 game unbeaten run going in to the game), and we now find ourselves one month later 9 points clear of Dundee and 5 points off a top 6 place.
  12. Here's a cracking quote from t/The Rangers' Supporters Assembly: "A statement from the Rangers Supporters' Assembly read: "The Rangers support has waited patiently for the opportunity to send a clear message to those that tried to destroy our club - starve them of their much-needed cash by boycotting this game. "It must also be remembered the disregard this club had for Rangers supporters when it unashamedly refused to offer refunds to supporters for a game abandoned due to a waterlogged pitch in 2009. "We also understand the desire to support the team - the fans have demonstrated this to unbelievable lengths of loyalty - but we ask that on this occasion in a one-off display of fan power we show that we have not been beaten or broken."" Love the way they try and blame their club almost being destroyed / broken on a club like Dundee United. There was me thinking it was their own board who ran up massive debts and didn't pay taxes and other bills leading to them being placed in administration then liquidation.
  13. Was it not only about 24 hours ago that Charles Green was saying it was important for all clubs to work together on league reconstruction and then he calls for Rangers fans to boycott a cup game and rejects a ticket allocation and asks Dundee United not to sell tickets to any Rangers fans... and no doubt still wants a 50% cut of gate money!
  14. 3 points against Dundee would be nice DL

  15. Since this started my Google chrome browser is playing up. I am getting an error message when i open the browser: "Your profile could not be opened correctly. Some features may be unavailable. Please check that the profile exists and you have permission to read and write its contents". Bookmarks have disappeared and the web history buffers but doesn't display. Unrelated?
  16. Is a redeeming feauture a cross between a future and a feature?
  17. I think the club has begun offering longer contracts again and scrapped the 2 year maximum contract which had been in place for a while. Fairly sure that no longer after Kenny McLean broke into the first team during DL's first year in charge that his contract was extended until 2014 (and that would have been around 2010 or early 2011 when his new longer deal was announced). Pretty sure that Carey and McGowan were signed on 3 year deals as well and did Cheesy not also get an unusually long contract too?
  18. You could see why Charles Green is very keen to talk about Motherwell, Ross County and other SPL clubs... means he doesn't have to answer any questions about how well Rangers are doing at the moment (play off spot in the 3rd division, out of the Ramsdens Cup at the quarter final stages...)... same with Ally McCoist.
  19. I thought you didn't do slagging off fellow St Mirren fans? You wanted an open debate where no one was censored but in the background you were taking legal advice about suing a forum member who disagreed with you. You are calling for my posts about your narrow-mindedness to be removed and for me to be banned and potentially sued and at the same time you label supporters for the CIC sheep. The more you post about being in danger of being banned for expressing your views after div has said umpteen times he has no intention or plans to ban you the more you come across as someone who is so full of their own self that they can't listen properly to anyone offering a different opinion. I won't type the 5 letter word beginning with B and ending in T which sums up a person who is so full of their own views that they can't tolerate a different viewpoint and have to rubbish and attack anyone offering a different viewpoint. If I used the word in question you would yet again go on about legal action and having my posts removed and having me banned and would no doubt also mention green and blue vermin and words like slander an libel.
  20. ... and who is being lined up to replace them if they 'do the decent thing' and resign? Am I correct in thinking that GLS left the BoD and wasn't replaced, and KMcG was forced to resign and wasn't replaced, and now you want RA and CS to resign or be booted off the BoD. I would hazard a guess that the club secretary has one of the more time consuming roles on the BoD and will have to deal with most correspondence sent to the club and with paperwork for the SFA and SPL and may also be dealing with paperwork on staff contracts etc. The remainder of the BoD have indicated want out rather than taking on more work than they do already.
  21. Great shout. Let's get rid of the new blood on the BoD (REA and Chris Stewart) and leave it to the guys who want out or have health issues at the minute, I'm sure they are queuing up to share the commercial duties and secretary duties on top of their other roles.
  22. I'm sure REA would be failing in his duties as a director of the club if he deliberately brought his friends in to asset strip a club he is a director of? Please do tell me more oh manly one.
