  1. I do agree with your point about Thompson. Since the Cup Final he's been a shadow of the player we've seen in recent times. On to many occasions he looks like he just can't be arsed. Bahoken is still some way off the standards we would want him to be at but what's making it worse is we expected another Goncalves. I believe in time he will come good and he did look a bit better than the Partick game. Thompson receives far less stick than other players for a number of reasons . Caprice did look threatening when he came on but I'm not sure we should put him into right mid when Teale is probably our best player. Would Teale still do as well playing on the left? I'm not sure but it might be something we could try.
  2. Cheesy had a brilliant game today! Credit where credits due! Goodwin did slightly better today than usual. Back to basics for this one I think! Cornell Caprice McGregor McAusland Grainger Newton Teale McGinn McLean McGowan Thompson
  3. I think no matter what DL will be in charge up until the Hearts game. Then if he's still not turned it around we might see a change but I don't see anything before that.
  4. Another poor performance but IMO a few positives to be drawn. I thought the back 3 of Goodwin, McAusland and McGregor looked solid today (with the exception of the goal). McGregor handled everything that was thrown at him very well and some glimpses of his old self which is encouraging! Against what most are saying, I thought Harkins was one of the better players, easpecially in the first half! Caprice looked fairly lively when introduced and could perhaps play a part in the team. I don't think Cornell did much wrong today. Some guy behind me reckoned the goal was his fault?! No it wasn't! The ball should've been headed clear as soon as it came into the box! Apart from maybe taking to long to distribute balls I wouldn't have any complaints. It pains me to say it but Thompson just isn't anywhere near the standards of last season. He looked like he had lost the hunger and desire and for large periods of the game was a passenger. Grainger, Bahoken, McGowan and Thommo all had poor ones today!
  5. Called up to the Wales squad! Brilliant!
  6. I don't see us having the funds to bring anymore in. I can't really think of any free agents that would improve us (there are plenty but not in our price range). I'd take Zaliukas or Hateley but I can't see it happening.
  7. STV Grant says there's nothing to report about players coming in yet, but that may change after the game today. He does says however there is a chance of a fringe player moving on. Lee Mair?
  8. Maybe Danny was tipped off that Carlisle were cutting his loan spell short, now he's trying to free up money to bring him in? As you say, could well be the reason behind Robertson going.
  9. I thought UEFA urged theSFA to keep the window open until Monday?
  10. BBC Sport have him in the squad for tomorrow in the preview.
  11. Sky don't have him listed either, seems he's not in the team. A good sign maybe?
  12. If were going to sack him, do it tomorrow so whoever comes in gets a day or 2 to bring a player or 2 in?
  13. In today's PDE, Danny is quoted as saying its the top teir of French football (Ligue 1)
  14. I'm not sure why were signing another player before we get a striker in? However, welcome aboard!
  15. It's not so much having a go, it's more like he's a player Lennon won't drop. He's out injured for weeks and as soon as he's fit McGinn (of all people) is dropped! I, personally, would take McGinn over McLean any day!
  16. Still some good SPL players without a club! Tom Hateley Marius Zaliukas Steve Simonsen
  17. It is the 31st the window shuts isn't it?
  18. It was confirmed today we have no interest in Riordan.
  19. Exactly, he's a goal scorer! Fair enough it's at a lower level but he wasn't really given a fair crack with us which I feel is a shame.
  20. Always liked him as a player when he was with us ... I'm not saying re-sign him, I'm simply stating that we could have used him this season had he still been here? He's no worse than Reilly or Brady!
  21. Someone like Jon McShane would have been excellent back up for Thommo! Still young but definitely could've been used as a lone striker!
  22. I'd take him in a flash. Strong powerful player who's good in the air, certainly no worse than Sam Parkin
  23. I wondered about Miller, he's not long signed a six month deal with VW though. I just wonder if Danny is preparing a pre-contract offer for him ...
  24. http://www.eveningtimes.co.uk/sport/spfl/jon-ready-to-go-right-back-to-basics-at-saints-133217n.21851155?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitterGood little interview here with Jon Robertson. Apparently he was deployed at right back a number of times in his career and by all accounts did fairly well against Gretna. Obviously Gretna are no where near SPFL standard but he must be worth a shot in there? Certainly a good bit faster than Vanzy!
  25. In an ideal world the player Danny is talking about should be backup to Thommo and be like a less shi*e Parkin. I agree though, a fast direct forward would be fantastic but we should be looking at getting one after a target man is brought it due the DL's favoured one up front tactics.
