  1. No getting away from this. This game tomorrow is an absolutely huge game for the football club. If we lose and other results go against us we could quite easily be back in 11th on Saturday night. On the other hand, if we win we are safe. Hopefully we get another big crowd in Paisley and roar the boys onto another massive win.
  2. Well, not really. For a start the Premiership has 2 more 'regular season' games than the Championship (38 to 36). So if the second Championship team was to win the play off against 3rd or 4th they'd go into the final having played as many games as 11th. If it was 3rd or 4th in the final, then they'd have played 2 extra games, hardly much suffering and I think it's right they should do the hard miles to get promoted. Really, this is no different from a straight 11th v 2nd proposal that many vaunted. As I understand it, the SPL agreed to give a play off spot to the SFL as part of the merger. It was the SFL who wanted to include 3rd or 4th in the playoffs as opposed to a straight 11th v 2nd. Makes their league more interesting, yet doesn't really effect the top flight team. In essence the 3rd v 4th and winner v 2nd is part of the Championship season, just like the round robin post split games are part of ours.
  3. Someone in the main stand has to wear a ghost costume and go behind Derek Adams and haunt the scrote. What a picture that would be!
  4. He's here to the end of the season, let's reopen the thread then ;)
  5. Would love to see him sign a new deal. There's many fans of other teams in our league who have said they'd love a player like Goodwin in their team. He's a big asset to the club and the team in my opinion, despite the agenda against him. For me he is priority number 3 from the out of contract players for a new deal this summer, behind Thommo and Kenny.
  6. Spoke to the gentleman a few times at games. Top man and top Buddie, brought a bit of colour to our support. Thoughts with his family. RIP.
  7. The Hibs v Thistle game is irrelevant. If we win on Saturday and Killie lose, we are 100% safe.
  8. Or just that would do. If we win we will probably be mathematically safe. If we aren't it would take some very freaky results to see us end up in 11th!
  9. A point wouldn't be a disaster really. Would mean we would definitely stay above County and either both of or one of Thistle and Hibs. A loss is pretty unthinkable.
  10. ' After Hibs 1-2 Hearts- headline is that 39 points is now totally safe, 38 as good as. % of time teams finished 11th (10,000 sims) St Mirren- 10.7% Hibs- 19.8% County- 20.3% Thistle- 21.1% Killie- 28.1% Average points for 10th- 36.8 Average points for 11th- 35.1 % of time each points total safe 35- 32% safe (up 4%) 36- 65% safe (up 7%) 37- 85% safe (up 5%) 38- 98.8% safe (up 1.7%) 39- 100% safe ' From Thistle fan on PNB. Not surprisingly, we are comfortably in the best position in terms of avoiding 11th out the bottom 5. That table generates random results aswell, so doesn't take into account our good form or the fact 2 of our last 3 are at home. Win at the weekend and we are 98.8% safe
  11. Very nervy about this. All set up really, a home game against a team below us who are woeful away from home. We've played them off the park in the 1 and 2/3rd games between the sides in Paisley so far. A game we should be winning, no doubt about it. If we do win we are 100% safe IMO. It just seems like it's a bit too... Simple. Doesn't seem like the St Mirren way to win this one. Hope we do though...
  12. County without a doubt. Shite wee club, no fans and too far away. Oh, and their manager is an odious little scrote. I think it will be Killie though.
  13. That's us in 7th and we should be finishing there IMO. We are the best team in the bottom 6.
  14. Good point good point. Take it, move on, beat the Highlanders a week tomorrow in Paisley and then... Relax.
  15. McGinn has had a poor game and that sub is spot on.
  16. If that tackle was the other way around, would have been a red.
  17. Will always take a point away from home in this league.
  18. Ah... Don't like this. Final whistle please! Take 1-1 and go home.
  19. What a run and pass Josh... Should have scored Kenny!
  20. Great 68th minute applause for Simon there, nice to see Thistle fans taking part.
