I will be quite happy if Danny returns from the Spanish pre season trip ,and takes his time in chosing the right players to fill the remaining gaps in the squad. Quality striker and a good left back will no doubt be top of his list, we all need to chill and see what happens in the next few weeks.

Rumour over on pie and bovril that the ex Port vale central defender is in talks with Saints. 36 years old and very experienced, he's also made his money with previous big moves to the likes of Cardiff ,WBA and Birmingham so it could have some substance.

The left back could be with the squad when they head off to Spain for the training camp, I doubt that it's going to be Dummett.

Fabulous player and one who i will always look back on with great respect, his goals were spectacular and so important to us and who could forget that magnificent double in the 4-0 mauling of the green bigots.

It's just my opinon mate, I think there are still funds available to strengthen the squad, but it might be that it depends on off loading the likes of Guy,lee Mair and one or two others before it happens, I dunno i'm just waiting with interest to see how it all pans out before I make any judgements on the squad.

I think it might be sensible to wait until after all of our squad is assembled before pressing the panic button. There are loads of free agents on trial with clubs and many more looking for the best deals, we will make more signings and further strengthen before our first competitive match imo.

According to Ronnie Mckay of The Sun ,Danny Lennon said that Steven Dorris has not been on our radar and wont be coming to St Mirren.

Some are suggesting that we won't go for Simonsen as he doesn't fit the style of play that Danny wants, with much of the build up play starting with the keeper. I would be disappointed if that were true as Simonsen is damn good keeper.

I have to agree Danny Wilson is massively overrated, but it's wrong that they can even be in a position to sign him again.

If the lad Dorris is now coming in for a weeks trial then the only signings that will be confirmed tomorrow will be both new keepers.

I would be surprised if both Newton and Dummett don't get loaned out to championship outfits.

Tom Russell is a legend among rock DJ's, along with the late Tommy Vance they were the only two guys on uk radio who would play decent rock music.

We are short on strikers so a promising young kid who wont be on massive wages won't harm the budget much.I guess we'll have more room for another striker if we can unload Lewis Guy.
