  1. I fully realise this but even so it isn't a conversation that I could envisage having with my wife, and I think most St Mirren if they are being honest would be similar. But when they want to critise I think it is something easily forgotten.
  2. I consider myself a St Mirren fan but I could never imagine the situation where I'd give the club a loan of £10,000 or more even if I was almost guaranteed it was paid back. For this reason I find it very difficult to criticise any director that has done this. I couldn't imagine having the conversation with my wife that would lead to this happening.
  3. Everyone copes with stress in different ways, we all have different life experiences and outside pressures so no I wouldn't say that the players you mention are 'mentally tougher' however I do believe that some of the squad, both those in the injured list and in the team regularly are not 'mentally fit' to give their best at the moment.
  4. I'm sure there are a few of them that are physically fit but mentally they are not where they need to be. Some people may dress it up as a lack of confidence but I'm certain some of them and other squad members are petrified before they step on the park.
  5. Because Irvine is a right back and Naismith isn't the player he was.
  6. True but Ross can only play the cards he has been dealt at the moment.
  7. No one can excuse the mistake today but Id rather have an outfield player go in goal than Gallagher. He he played under Ross last season and he has preferred Langfield since he came in for a reason. First 3 January signings, keeper left back and a central midfielder. Anything after that is a bonus.
  8. Thought the young guys all did well and the most solid our defence has looked all season, another individual error but I still think Langfield is a better keeper than Gallagher, langfields error was no worse than Hardie missing from under the bar. Encouraging signs but TBH we probably need a crap performance with a win more than an OK performance and a defeat.
  9. Hutton has had his worst game for us and he has been our best player by a mile. Says it all really
  10. It just shows how far we have fallen, can anyone else remember the last time we entered the competition before the top division teams?
  11. Having watched us tonight anyone that wants to bring forward games needs their head examined.
  12. Because went don't have a manager or the new man may just be in the door and will probably want time to work on the team?
  13. Having said that with us being without a manager at the moment and the chance that we may have someone in by then a free week for the new man to work with the team may be useful.
  14. But what if some of our first team players are called up........ Fair enough play it on the 8th.
  15. Morton making the league cup semi means our game away to them on 22nd October will need to be moved as it is the semi final weekend. At least it isn't a home gate that will be hit.
  16. To be fair to JD they replaced the shirt today without any fuss.
  17. JD logo peeling off my sons top after one wash......
  18. I tend to agree with Raes assessment of the game yesterday, it was probably the best I have seen us play this season and the QOS goal came against the run of play. Up until then the only problems for us were created by Langfield either coming off his line when he shouldn't or staying on it when he should come out After we scored I thought we would kick on but the trio of Irvine, Webster and Langfield conspired to immediately throw the chance away. Maybe the double sub was a bit predictable, maybe giving Quinn a run would have helped but anyone that claims Webster was being humiliated by being subbed is just wrong. He was having a poor game when we had 4 at the back and that quickly turned into a nightmare when we went to 3. The only decision was whether to take him off or move back to 4 at the back. Without a left or right back available and chasing the game meant Webster had to come off for his own good. Why these experienced players are making so many poor decisions so often is unfathomable. Rae needs to be very ruthless with a couple of senior players who need dropped for their own good. Having said that I still think Langfield is better than Gallagher, how is our U20's keeper?
  19. The club have been giving tickets for the North stand away to schools.
  20. What will arrive first our strips or our first league win.........
  21. Two goal of a start playing again, looks like we will need to score at least 3 to get anything from this. At at least it looks like we are beefing up the midfield a bit and Clarkson helps bring people into the game if we can get the ball to him.
