  1. Buddiecat, just for clarification.....SMiSA may well be an independent group who own shares in the club ( a fair chunk of shares and working with the Chairman to become the largest shareholder) but also have a member co-opted on to the Club Board. Are the club really suggesting that a current member of the Club Board can't be trusted with a set of keys or has the question never been asked??
  2. Kenny, if I may use his First Name as I don't know him, was never going to be your candidate, what you are attempting to do is convince as many others that he's not the right candidate for the role. All three have been forthright and brave enough to stand and for that alone have my respect. I will read and listen to what each one has to say and base my decision on that and I hope that the majority take a similar view. I thought, when I saw this thread opening that it would be a good opportunity for people to ask questions and receive "honest" replies to their queries.........the last thing I was hoping for was to see a "potentially" positive thread being dragged into turgid, repetitive guff. Occasionally you surprise me when you have something balanced and worthwhile to say ........... unfortunately I'm never surprised when you "spout" from on-high half truths, not even near truths and sometimes untruths to further whichever agenda you are peddling.
  3. Don't disagree with that Drew but is it possible that Alan McManus got more out of the squad in three games than Jack Ross is just now.................I'm generally an optimist but as soon as we went one down last night I had no belief that we were going to get back into the game. The three games prior to JR's appointment (Hibs, Falkirk and Dunfermline) we scored six, conceded six, winning one game, losing one game and drawing the other. The three games since JR's appointment (Dundee United, Hibs and Morton) we have conceded seven, scored one and lost all three games. It is entirely possible, of course, that McManus benefitted from the often talked about "dead cat bounce" before JR turned up. My worry is that the small "feel good" factor created when Rae left and we had a couple of decent results has gone, certainly seemed like it listening t those around me last night. Anyway, onwards and upwards...........JR has had three games and now seen the squad for about a month. Hopefully we can see some sort of improvement and performance on Saturday.
  4. You can have my nomination too David if there is any benefit in having more than 10. Nice to see someone raising their head above the parapet and trying to engage with "all" the members.
  5. I'd like to park my car in the St Mirren Car Park for free yet your quite happy to be part of the car park clique!!
  6. The first line in bold is nonsense otherwise you'd have stated that in your original post. The second line in bold is in no way similar to your "claimed" circumstances as the club had mad no comments they needed to justify, innocuous or otherwise. In fact it is more similar to what you "claim" I misread. I won't reply to any more of your word-salad on this thread.
  7. Did you apologise for any for any offence or upset your veiled "racism" accusation may have caused??
  8. The Family by Mario Puzo (although completed by Carol Gino)
  9. When I went in at 2.00pm there were already 166 registered as being in attendance as I asked the guy on the door (assuming his info was accurate).
  10. 1st November is the re-scheduled date for Morton so I'd settle for six points by the time the fireworks go off (night-time on the 5th obviously)!!
  11. Unless the Morton game has been re-scheduled and I've missed the announcement (which is entirely possible) I think it's only United (Home) and Hibs (Away) before November...........I'd take two positive performances and whatever points we can get from these two fixtures and then hope for a win at home against Dumbarton in our first November fixture.
  12. I'd like to know where the "evicted peasants" got their riches from to buy land and slaves??
  13. What is the qualification to be a CE?? or CEO for that matter??
  14. Stuart, I've been watching your comparisons to "Atlantis" with interest..........you did this in a previous thread and there are some glaring inaccuracies in your portrayal of "Atlantis" in what it is, has, and how it has come to be what it is. For a start the sports hall was built on the back of fundraising campaign in the local community which over time raised, if I remember correctly, around £400,000.00 (a major amount of that money was given from the various hotel groups and chains operating in the area) and over £1m of donations from the "National Lottery". In the mid 90's you got quite a lot for that kind of spend. You are correct that the centre is based on putting profits back in to the charity to be re-invested on further developments and there have been great success stories along the way, you are also correct that people put forward proposals and if thought viable and add value to the centre and to the community working parties will look at how they can be created. However, Atlantis doesn't have five football pitches ..... it has a five a side pitch. Atlantis has tennis courts and gym facilities as well as the sports hall facilities. I have a strong attachment to Oban and although we are very proud of it ...... Atlantis is a great facility in it's area, built on grants and funding plus local input but I don't think any of us involved would consider it "world class".
  15. I'm not getting the kit this year as I've stated, but how hard is it for someone at St.Mirren to contact one of the useless twats in charge at JD and get a date set in stone. Fans here have been treated like muck, wheres Tony Fitz through all this, his big thing is getting fans on board any getting bums on seats. Why would anyone bother when all they will end up getting is regular kicks to the stones and treated like a clown. 0 Like this Quote I know for an absolute fact that both Tony Fitzpatrick and Campbell Kennedy have both been in contact with JD various times this week and previous weeks.............the problem is that JD don't have a date set in stone for them receiving the kits never mind distributing them which is causing the knock on effect. A shite set of circumstances for certain but that is the situation, or was, yesterday.
  16. His Dad, who I believe has quite an influence over him, is very keen for him to stay and develop with us, at least for the time being........his agent, if he has one, may be different of course!!
  17. I thought it was more to do with their chairman, saying out loud, what every sane supporter in Scotland was thinking !!
  18. What is funny that you actually think you know more than a guy who has been in the financial sector for more than 40 years. The bit above in bold is the bit I was referring to old boy!!
  19. Or the Governor of the Bank of England if you've been watching the live broadcast this last 20 minutes!!!!
  20. Personally I like the fact that the strip can be bespoke which is one of only a couple of good points about the deal with JD, the other being the commercial aspect. No doubt Adidas do cracking strips though.
  21. Surely you're not praising a strip that isn't an Adidas catalogue strip!!!!! Loving the strip and loving the overall positivity, looking forward to seeing the other kits too.
  22. That is conjecture I'm afraid, to put this into play they had to a) get elected and b ) have a majority to carry it through. There is no doubt that they achieved both but until that point there was no "guaranteed" EU Referendum
  23. I think our first "pinstripe" top was in 1884 although it was only black and white stripes, I don't think you'd have liked the blue shorts and socks that went with it right enough!!
