  1. Don't think this was ever a goer after Sutton came in to be fair.
  2. I agree. The Saints colours should be black and white stripes. Thankfully, we've unveiled a black and white striped shirt to allay any fears or concerns you may have. And they did get the colours right. The home shirt is made up entirely of black and white. Anyway, I went in store and pre-ordered mine today. That being said, if I receive the shirt in the same condition as the one in the model photo, I'll be getting my money back, pronto. Can't wait to see the shitstorm next season when we go to black and white hoops to commemorate our 140th year and our horizontal beginnings.
  3. Awww how cute that you're swashbuckling in to his rescue. Young love, eh? Though I don't think he's asking to be rescued, champ. He takes the slagging a hell of a lot better than you, ya touchy wee soul.
  4. Mind though everyone, Shulls no actually bothered. He's just giving an opinion. Unrelentingly. Repeatedly. Constantly.
  5. God, could you imagine if it had a decent sponsor? like Clydeside
  6. Stunning effort. Absolutely love this shirt. It's black and white stripes. It's traditional enough for me. What a cracker.
  7. If that's the kit then I love it. It's an absolute belter.
  8. They're putting him out on loan to Belgium apparently.
  9. Not to be pedantic but it was Diadora we won the cup in. ;)
  10. Mind only a few weeks ago when there were folk on the other Mooy thread who claimed he was still pish when some of us had the audacity to suggest that we mishandled a player with absolute bounds of potential?
  11. Humble pie will be delicious from many, many dafties on here.
  12. No offense to big Jason as I like him and think he's a good player but if we were getting Cammy Smith and Shankland for him, I'd give him a coaly up to Aberdeen myself.
  13. I'd rather have too many big centre halves than our historical issue of not enough. Another pleasing signing.
  14. What money offered? Buy the Buds now has exclusivity and the salty tears from a few will likely begin.
  15. We'll still be waiting on the hall of fame board getting updated though...
  16. More I think about it the more that this would be disastrous. Would anyone seriously accept a couple of cup wins and a possible league challenge in the next 5 years (at best!) for the inevitable decade long task of picking the pieces up of a club left in ruins (at best) which will invariably happen?
  17. Hmmmm, with a bit of perspective on this mornings events it seems like Fitzy might not be as batshit mental as first assumed....
  18. In addition, is this perhaps what Fitzy was hinting at about a league winning team within 3 years? The notion is nice but I certainly wouldn't want a league challenging team at the expense of the clubs future being jeopardised down the line. However, if due diligence is done and they are found to be fit and proper then the bid must be considered like the others.
  19. Hopefully you're joking. Hearts are a prime example of this and Buy the Buds will still be on the go 5-10 years from now. But the next time it will be for the sake of saving the club for going down the pipes. 76% means we'd be completely at this new bidders mercy. The moment they get fed up, it's game over and that can happen exceptionally quickly and make a stunning fall from grace. Just ask Hearts, Livi and Gretna fans.
  20. 2-0 away to Ross County in 05/06, one of my most enjoyable days as a Saints fan. A big group of us up, everyone happy, a win that more or less assured to everyone that we had what it took to be champions, then the bus driver informed us that he hadn't had his alloted break so had to stay in the mallard for another two hours post match. Happy, happy day. That 3-2 win against Motherwell. The 2-1 at Somerset, 2-1 at Starks from the 2000 season. The 2-0 win away at Falkirk to keep us up in 2009. Probably the best single performance I've seen from a St Mirren side. Absolutely everything clicked into place that day. Every loose ball was ours, the football was intense, precise and purposeful. We could have walked away with 8-0 that day and it wouldn't have flattered us, we were that good. It's amazing how away days seem to stick more than home games. The 4-0 against Celtic was certainly a contender though. As was Xmas eve against Rangers.
  21. No doubt just on the off chance there's someone who has slipped the net. We got van zanten from an exit trial so there are decent players there now and then. If we could pick up one lad who gives to us half of what vanzy did then it's a worthwhile exercise.
  22. Can't wait to read your 459 tear stained posts when you lay your peepers on the glorious pinstripes.
  23. I'm really sorry for your loss, Ian. A noble and classy final gesture from Tam as well, I always feel it's the least one can do to give others a chance at life as a lasting and meaningful legacy. Like the sadly missed Toshie and Kilted bud, everyone knew Tam even if it was only to exchange pleasantries or in passing. One of those guys at the fitba who was just a really good character.
  24. So you propose new kits to be released for next season whilst the previous season is still going on?No club anywhere does this. Some may play in it at the very last game of the season but even then, that's rare. I always remember as a kid going for the new kits when the pre season games kicked off. I don't think mid June is particularly late, I do think the service and lack of facilities to buy kits at the ground is a major downside to JD.
