  1. That’s some amount of spin. He’s only been allowed back after backing down on his position to take action on the situation. It would appear he gets nothing he wants bar a seat at the ground. - No repercussions for the club on the supposed incident - no repercussions for SMISA - no actions for any individuals - Kibble & SMISA continue exactly as before. If AW is seeing this as a win, it certainly would be a very hollow one.
  2. Definitely reads as Wardrop has backed down. ‘I won’t take this any further, just please let me get back to watching the football as a fan’ No mention of the Kibble directors actions which (I believe) were only against Wardrop & not SMISA/ the club board/ the club as an entity. If they still have intent to go down legal routes & it’s just against him, that’s nothing to do with the club & those parties can sort it out. I feel though, there’s a decent chance this will be wider reaching with AW retracting his complaints fully & Kibble dropping their action against him. I do hope so anyway, even though it wouldn’t be directly hurting the club, we don’t need anymore publicity on this topic. https://www.renfrewshire24.co.uk/2023/07/20/st-mirren-fc-directors-granted-interim-interdict-at-court-of-session/
  3. Hopefully a sign that the entire situation is getting put behind us. It’s been a ridiculous mountain out of a mole hill from the get go. We are doing brilliant on the park. Also seemingly a lot has improved off the park financially after the fallout from Covid. Better looking forward than concentrating on a ‘he said, she said’ argument over something that was never even going to happen.
  4. VAR ruining yet another game as Spain have two checks so far. Second took far, far too long at almost five minutes. 1-0 Spain.
  5. Great night, really enjoyed it. Wee cheeky freebie as well through SMISA. HOF inductees were on point & the Lennon/ Thompson interviews cracking.
  6. All the hard work of the night undone with one slip. Brutal.
  7. https://x.com/pieandbov/status/1712565789847384308?s=46&t=o7cZTRZQdQRmoiuMLXLeXw 👀 👀 👀 it wouldn’t have been 6 posts if you could just accept a different view after the first. Oh or you stuck to your guns on your 3 post rule. 😂
  8. He wasn’t interfering with play. VAR only moved controversy & slows the game. You backed the wrong horse, accept it.
  9. 1-0 Spain yep. At least VAR keeps it fair eH…
  10. Just can’t help yourself. Go cry over different opinions, just like you must do, several times a day. 🥲
  11. It wasn’t debatable, it was completely wrong. 😂😂 Getting a positivity lecture from one of the most negative, miserable & argumentative fools to still post on here. 😂
  12. Did you celebrate the goal? Was there any point? 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️
  13. Just no point celebrating goals nowadays. VAR has completely ruined the beautiful game.
  14. Golden opportunity to utterly stick it to Alex Rae today & Strain f*cked it for us. God knows what he was thinking. Disappointing, self inflicted defeat.
  15. Terrible defending there, game over.
  16. Really impressed with McMenamin today.
  17. Stupidity. No excuse for that at all.
  18. Why on earth would anyone deliberately handball with VAR? Utter madness, complete stupidity.
  19. Did you take into account the repayments? Nope, it’s just a rough estimate but the interest calculation you & your pal have came up with are miles off on current rates. Even the first year interest at decent rates should be more than £2k. Reasonable to get a FRB/ savings account for around the 5% mark & that’s over £4K (before tax) alone.
  20. That’s your view. I don’t think there’s a better use of funds than providing a facility that will provide income for St Mirren without a financial outlet. for me, benefit & progress stops with my football club. 👍 I know, I was just giving my view.
  21. Because it would benefit St Mirren and that’s literally the main purpose for SMISA existing now. It isn’t just ‘some business’ it’s the reason SMISA exists. But if SMISA gift the funds, the money can go back into the football club we all support. 🤷‍♂️ A proposal that results in a stronger St Mirren which would come from less financial burden & retaining all that income to invest back in the team is probably the only thing that would benefit all St Mirren fans.
  22. It could (and should) be far more than that but I agree with your overall premise. Screenshot is for a an instant access account (rounded down) going now. If they put it in a 4 year fixed rate bond, at current fixed rates it would probably be more.
  23. The latest - definite yes for me. Tbh though, I think I’d prefer SMISA to just gift the money if it’s there from our reserves over the monthly contributions Recently, the club has been exploring several new commercial opportunities. One opportunity which the club have decided to progress is the introduction of 3 new executive boxes on the site of the current media room in the main stand and incorporating a small area of the 1877 Club space. As part of the works, the media room will be relocated to the Main Stand Southeast concourse. Each box will have a capacity of 10 persons, and in addition to being used on match-days it is hoped that these new facilities will bring a range of other opportunities going forward such as use by local companies during the week. The club believes that the introduction of these Executive Boxes will bring a good return on investment going forward as we aim to maximise revenue across all areas. This is essential to the long-term sustainability of the club. The SMiSA Board recognise the importance of developing new revenue streams, and fully support the club in this development. We believe the introduction of these Executive Boxes will be mutually beneficial to both SMiSA, its members and the club as a whole. As such, we would like to offer the club a loan to cover the cost of construction. This would allow the club to spread the cost of the works over a number of years, enabling further investment in developing other areas of the Club. The loan would of course be interest-free, providing better terms than any bank. SMiSA's proposal would be an £80,000 loan, re-paid over a period of 4 years. Repayment arrangements are outlined below: 2024/25 season - £20,000 repayment 2025/26 season - £20,000 repayment 2026/27 season - £20,000 repayment 2027/28 season - £20,000 repayment We have also agreed with the club that there would be a clause added for immediate repayment, should certain terms be triggered. We would therefore ask all SMiSA members to vote on the above loan proposal. You can do so by clicking on the below link. Voting closes at 6pm on Thursday 12th October.
