  1. The legacy facilities are a massive boon look at the ahoy and the emirates and adding stands to an existing venue with the intention of later using them elsewhere is sound ine of the big football tourneys did that as well as London 2012
  2. Victoria proposed all new venues instead of utilising or adapting what is already in place around Melbourne
  3. I am currently nil by mouth and don’t appreciate the curry references
  4. We really stopped being very good when we lost Erhahon and could have been third or fourth if he had stayed, I don’t think the fee sufficiently compensated us for what we lost but bad financial management left us needing to accept a bid that didn’t even hit the low end of acceptable Carson going is a blow and while Shaughnessy was not perfect the central defenders we have left weren’t good enough to begin with and haven’t been supplemented we had no decent wide delivery after Strain went off the boil we had a good nucleus of a team that got us into a good position at new year but haven’t replaced like for like and McMenamin might be the only upgrade, I hope the early signs are wrong and we play him as a winger and not as a wing back
  5. I don’t think Hampden would be ready in time so a temporary stadium would be needed many existing stadium would need 2stands taken down to accommodate a track and temporary stands would need to be added the way they adapted Hampden for the previous games seemed wrong with the temporary raised surface being fabricated in situ there could be some great legacy facilities for the right setting
  6. He will make a few bob their, good for him If it doesn't work out he might be back at Christmas time though, you never know
  7. The Scottish Government seems interested after the aussies pulled out, it could be a multi-city effort with Glasgow as the hub with the facilities already in place for swimming, indoor velo andplaces like the Emorates and the Hydro. I don't know about the main stadium though, Hampden might laready be geting a makeover for the world cup joint bid and they have been listed for the Europa League and other finals in 26-27 I feel sorry for Australia. they often compare themselves to the Spice Girls at time like these, everybody tries their best but Victoria always let the rest down
  8. You will get on together well then. If it is Kayode then his manager speaks very highly of him, he might be short of fitness just now but it could be that we have a really good player when he is fit
  9. Don't you think that the best magicians would be upset to think that they do things differently every time? Magicians do things the same way, as rehearsed, every time.
  10. Yes A plan to use the viaplay as a warm-up for the league, which means that fans should not expect much from the group stage As long as that is clear when we pay for our tickets
  11. The manager seems unusually cheerful given how shit we have been in the last 2 outings. Talking about the timing of the group games doesn't make much sense since it is the same for all teams, even with a couple of players moving on the remnants of last year's squad should be dealing with these teams efficiently. If anything, this clip adds to the notion that the manager doesn't really sweat over the league cup group games
  12. is there a difference between real potential and possible potential?
  13. I think he will find a club but so many are falling to do that just now we might have to waive any fee but I can’t see the club paying but not playing him
  14. looks like he read the forum on the way in from the airport Or worse still, the facebook page
  15. I think we can dispense with the Montrose game and see how the side perform on Saturday. I will be watching online again. I don't see the sense of signing a winger and trying to turn him into a wing-back, perhaps coaching him to track and cover a bit more would make sense but if he isn't that kind of player then we really need to play to his strengths. The possibility of 2 new strikers is exciting, as always we struggled to get the ball to the front players on Saturday and the manager needs to work out how he will improve delivery into and around the box so that the forwards can be a success. That will tell us if he has a plan for the side that can work
  16. Well Japan are not currently an occupying power oppressing a minority, so there is no comparison.
  17. You mean like Volume 3 being a 3rd sequel 😏
  18. Volume 3 will be the second sequel
  19. I just assume the manager has no interest in the Viaplay and nor should we if that is the case. If he has told the players just to jog around, build fitmess and not injure themselves then I don't really see why any of us should hand over any cash for these games. 10-15 minutes of hard work by us should really kill-off teams like Montrose though. I was resigned to Robinson being a really bad appointment this time last year and he almost won me over completely by the end of the first phase of the league, hopefully we will improve somewhat by mid-August. I'm going in to hospital again this week and at least that gives me the excuse not to go to any games, if they rally by the weekend then the Cowden match is close by for me so I might just head along to that if it's not pishing down. Otherwise, i will wait for the league to start before getting excited again
  20. Could he? Would he not have had to wait until the January transfer window if he was contracted to Summer 2024? Yeh i got that wrong, but signing the extension still gave us a better option should he leave.
  21. I don't think that is what he meant. I don't recall Main starting in any other position than up-front, he still did a power of work tracking and covering in every game. Not every forward will be able to make the same contribution in either situation for us.
  22. did i say otherwise? The length of time left on a contract does very often have a bearing on the compensation and in this case Carson could have signed a pre-contract elsewhere this summer which would probably have forced a cut-price sale, so that strengthens whatever hand we have, given that there might not be many takers.
  23. People have said before that it wouldn't necessarily hurt a player to accept a contract extension even if they intended to leave as it compensates the club when we would otherwise get zilch. Carson has done that and while I dont think he intended things to play out as i described the end effect is the same, he will get another club and saints will be able to avaid being out of pocket. Without any proof I would not be surprised if TC fancies himself a shot at more international caps if he gets a more prominent club (he can't be looking for a lesser one given his form and having 2-4 good years ahead of himself). Maybe some of his previous problems have come back to haunt him or maybe he just feels that he needs to cash in more heavily than he currently does to make up some of the ground he lost financially in the past. As to how much, you need to look at the clubs who need a new 1st pick goalie and how much they can afford. I really don't study the market but the only SPFL clubs that can pay more than us seem well set for now so it is down south or foreign shores for him, or two years of freezing his arse off on the fringes.
