  1. We don't really want sutton going anywhere, if he is given the service and the support ( Loy hopefully ) he will be a big player for us between now and end of season
  2. Completely agree both keepers this year have been terrible and never felt confident with either of them , left back must be a priority as well , Irvine far more comfortable at right back , I'd also like to see another Versatile player that can play a number of positions across the back and maybe even do a job in midfield if required .(Keith Watson type )
  3. Anybody know who this guy is wearing 17 ?
  4. I have to agree with MCS , we must build from the back and try and get a keeper in who is confident and commanding and who doesn't ship goals so easily , langfield and gallagher have both been a disaster this season
  5. Good article here form the chairman addressing inbalance in our squad something we have all worried about since the start of the season Saints chairman welcomes new boss but admits he's giving him an imbalanced squad http://www.eveningtimes.co.uk/sport/14784198.Saints_chairman_welcomes_new_boss_but_admits_he__39_s_giving_him_an_imbalanced_squad/?ref=twtrec
  6. Another player Nicky Devlin of Ayr praising Jack Ross on Peter and roughie tonight , says he's the best coach he's ever worked under ..: There definitely seems to be a lot of current players praising him so he must have something ...
  7. Lots of players from other teams commending Ross he seems to have lots of admirers within the game ...
  8. I'm sure the "Ian murray" question was brought up at his interview and he must have gave some good answers ... obviously it's easy to compare the two but I think Ross definitely has something about him . Time to get behind him and let's see what happens , COYS!
  9. Apparently an ex St Mirren defender as assistant ( not Goodwin )
  10. Robert Grieve ‏@robert_grieve 33s33 seconds ago Jack Ross is the new St Mirren manager. Deal agreed. Announcement due this evening @scotsunsport welcome aboard jack!
  11. there will be regular updates from the chairman on new website, here is the latest one http://www.stmirren.com/news/club/club-news/190-update-from-the-chairman
  12. The fitness facilities at love street did in fact bring in good revenue for the club it's a very profitable business , if you have gym members paying a fixed amount each month that's guaranteed extra income for the club , also if you have a studio within the gym you can also offer fitness classes bringing in extra revenue , I would imagine gym members should also bring in extra revenue for an on site cafe ( skinny latte's of course :-)
  13. Your maybe right although I'm not sure how much unused space there is still in the main stand? Livingston have a separate facility housed in the corner( just next to the away stand ) so perhaps this is something that could be incorporated into the office block that was being discussed ?
  14. Yep good point if there's going to be offices within the stadium then coffee shop perhaps underneath the offices would make perfect sense , doing take aways would also make sense given the number of industrial estates nearby I'm positive it would be a profitable venture I'm sure a lot of fans would utilise on match day aswell , I know personally as I travel through from the east I would much rather give my money to St. Mirren than a another cafe/restaurant in the city centre Another idea ( they have this inside one of the stand in Livingston ) is incorporating a gym /fitness centre into one of the stands perhaps with a discounted membership rate for supporters ? In sure a lot of fans and non fans would take this up
  15. I like the idea of finally utilising the corners for advertising space and office space that's additional funds for the club and addresses the issue of the open corners , also like the appointment of a media manager should make the communication better all a positive move Any ideas no matter how small that bring in extra revenue for the club can only be a positive thing
  16. Gilmour only touting Gus as he knows GLS and Gus are good friends , he doesn't actually know any more than we do . Gus would a divisive choice as it's clear there are some who want Gus back and others who don't want him anywhere near the place .. If Davies is out with our budget then it's got to be Yogi Hughes , although I'm led to believe that it was Davies that approached us which would mean his "garden leave " isn't an issue ...
  17. Now i agree with you there mr Gilmour every time he made a lot off errors of the past 4/5 seasons New beginnings now hopefully the new chairman can take his time and get the next one right
  18. The point was in Danny last season several of his signings were paid off costing the club a high amount of additional money , therefore that was ultimately his downfall that was one of the main reasons Gilmour gave for not renewing his contract , I'm not arguing with you that there hasn't been other terrible signings since just that in Danny's last year there was an extra high amount paid off after only a few months with the club
  19. Sure there's been other's since but Danny had an alarmingly high amount in his last season which was a big reason behind him not getting a new contract
  20. I can't see Rae surviving if we get beat on Saturday at Dumbarton then I think it's pretty certain he will go , Yogi Hughes is the perfect fit IMO if rae does go we need to get the next appointment 100% right , tried and tested manager required
  21. Agree our formation is far too predictable and extremely easy to play against , hibs didn't even have to get out of 2nd gear today , the two wingers didn't get involved and the two central midfielders were exposed and far too easily overrun , we need a ball winner in their ! I read in the PDE that Alex is looking to get a few out on loan ( I'm assuming Gordon will be one of them ) so he can bring someone in , fingers crossed he can act quickly ...
  22. Not so much bailing out the manager I was more thinking helping us to improve our squad further therefore giving us more chance of promotion.... Anyway was just a thought ..
  23. If we have maxed out our player budget could The approx £2476 extra per month perhaps be used to bring in another (badly needed) midfielder , that's a half decent wage ... perhaps this could be put to members as a potential use of the extra £2 ?
  24. The fans are pretty unanimous in agreement that we are desperately short in midfield , given that Alex was a tough tackling midfielder in his day I thought his priority would be to get a midfield marshal in to replace Goodwin , if Hutton is supposed to be that person we are in for a very very tough season ....
