Keep it simple and stick to a system the players are familiar with. We have such a glaring problem at left mid it’s not even funny. Stuck Coulson there for the time being. Also think Willock could interchange with Flynn.

I don’t buy into that claim. However, what he should have done was add to last seasons squad (minus Morgan, Davis, etc) with players of a higher quality. Unfortunately, the players he has signed have been utter dugmeat (with the exception of Willock).

Watching that game on Saturday reminded me of Tommy Craig’s first home match, where got beat 2-0 off the newly promoted Hamilton side. TC’s signings looked totally out their depth, and our usual core of good players (McGinn, McLean, Naismith etc) looked like they didn’t know where they were meant to be playing. Looked the exact same on Sat. Seen these signs far too many times. Stubbs is a write off.

If it’s a proper 4-4-2 with Mullen and NBM up top then I totally understand why Cammy has been dropped. His best position is in behind the striker, and he’s ineffective out wide.

Same team as against Dumbarton. Diamond in midfield worked pretty well in that match, hopefully it works just as well in this one.

Actually think McShane has been one of the better players, which shows you how poor the rest have been. Baird and Coulson the only other ones playing ‘alright’. King looks like he has potential. Least he wants to get balls in the box.

Yes, because every signing will follow the exact same pattern and criteria [emoji849] When Motherwell, Dundee, and others make these type of signings, they’re lauded because they usually have a good track record of finding gems at that level. We should absolutely be exploring this market. It’s something we haven’t been doing enough of in previous years. Ball and Marwood were obvious failures but it doesn’t mean we should abandon the idea completely.
