  1. Look on the bright side, at least we have 6 strikers... at least 4 of which we know struggle for goals. Strap yourselves in, the relegation battle rollercoaster is back in town
  2. Stelios away at Livingston the season we got promoted. Let's be honest, that rule was only made "to the ref's discretion" to cover the previous complete lack of consistency
  3. The V9 academy believe it or not Very Gus-esque comment - seems to be a common theme. Always an excuse and always someone else's fault but his - several games this year we have through away points due to poor selection and/or subs
  4. 4 out of the 5 were poor (Durmus just about got pass marks but definitely was our best player in the second 45), we had 1 unfit winger on the bench so not much option but to remain as we were. Any of MacPherson, Foley, or Andreu could've came off. To me at least Cammy looked up and passed forward from time to time and doesn't put his passes 3 yards behind the receiving man (serious bugbear). Cammy and Sam both poor at goal.
  5. We are in danger of falling asleep at the wheel massively here. Another team that are no great shakes visit and we massively underestimate ourselves and gain only a point (which we were arguably fortunate to do). I have a feeling Jim is trying to shitfest his way to safety, ala Hamilton style Yet another game with far too many passengers in black and white, poor tactics, strange team selection in the first instance, ill timed subs (and poor ones when they came). Surprised more hasn't been said about the poor squad management that left us with a GK, RB (who came onto Centre mid), an unfit winger, and 4 strikers on the bench... not a great situation to be in - this won't be aided at all if Flynn's injury is serious. Improvement definitely necessary.
  6. If by key you mean he was on the same park at the time they were scored then yes, he was crucial. Meanwhile on planet earth the more sane amongst us can recognise he had absolutely nothing to do with at least one of them (whether he had a good game or not). You've mentioned previously our manager recognises how good JO is... he clearly isn't too confident in him or any of the other options given he just signed a further 2 strikers - bringing our total now to 6 (SIX)! He may have done well in your opinion but please get over your weird agendas for or against certain players or at least don't ruin the reputation of the forum with nonsense such as this.
  7. Why? It's the truth, some of the head in the clouds stuff on here makes you forget that whilst we've done ok this season we are still in amongst it, and there is still a lot of work to be done
  8. The way things stand any 2 of 6 could occupy the last 2 league places - given how tight it is you cannot be naive enough to not hold onto a 2-0 lead away from home - with every passing week Goodwin is looking more like DL in his first season of full time. Hope we come back out the way we started the 1st half
  9. And if he's anything like he was with us, he sits 5 yards deeper than the other 3 defenders.
  10. MacKenzie as you've admitted previously when Stubbs tried to punt him, is a perma-crock (as much as he is good). Playing arguably our best centre mid in defence is not a solution if we're looking to move up the table. I take your point but there is a difference between having players who can play there and having players who offer the same drive and composure Magennis offers. As proven in the 2nd half of last year, we are a different outfit with him. Just like we have other goalkeepers who can play, but if Hladky was out he would be missed.
  11. Oh Kirk, what a shame. Well and truly spoiled all the effort he showed to keep us up in 2007 not once but twice - badge kissing one of the ugly sisters in front of the NB is bad enough but this is something i've never heard of in many years watching football. Perma-crock and 35 - usually you'd be saying great business - it came late in the day but you'd have to feel the 2 days Jim had to react should've been enough to get a replacement in. Unfortunately we are once again down a centre half and are in a rather precarious position. Not to worry though - we have 6 strikers and no replacement for the influential Kyle Magennis
  12. Good point, nobody has ever mentioned this on here before
  13. The same would've been said about John McGinn in 2012/13 before he got a run
  14. Another player Jim doesn't seem to fancy for reasons known only to himself. Hopefully we don't let one of our biggest potential assets go for pocket money.
  15. Without going back 15 years I can definitely remember Maxwell and Reid playing WB several times for us. I also recall McAusland playing WB in the early months of 2010/11. How many games has Hodson played as a wingback statto? From the site I read it was joint 4th... even going with your version of events, 4 assists does not equal no attacking potential from fullback which is word for word what you stated Leicester had. For reference I believe only one of our players has more than 1 assist this season
  16. Their Leftback had the 4th highest assists in the team that year - so no, not none. They also had Jamie Vardy and Riyad Mahrez at peak performance and could break up the park quickly... we are slower than a week in Barlinnie.
  17. Ian Maxwell, Alan Reid & McAusland have all played wingback for us... I rest my case
  18. It's not because of who signed each of them respectively is it? You're not so bitter to have that opinion... are you?
  19. This and we now have no attacking potential from Fullback
  20. It really isn't as simple as you are insisting. One player does not make a team, or are you Alan Stubbs? Hladky barely had anything to do yesterday and we still gained a point... how can that be when the other players are simply making up the numbers?
  21. No need for toys out the pram. This is a forum, for opinions. Hladky is by far and away our biggest asset - no question, he is however a goalkeeper... in my opinion, goalkeepers have a slightly lesser influence on a game of football due to the nature of it, particularly in Scotland. Having said that, I wasn't comparing them as players - simply that they are important players in different positions both running their contracts down. To me McGinn is one of our (possibly third or 4th) most influential outfield player. He won multiple POTY's last year and would've probably been in amongst the running this year - this is despite playing 4 different positions over the last 18 months. Ryan Flynn is another important player but he isn't worth near as much as Hladky. However, he is integral to the team. His contract expires in 6 months too, should we let him go for a small 5 figure sum?
  22. Not irreplaceable no, but certainly not ideal in a battle to avoid the playoffs. Why are we "encouraging" (as per Jack Ross) teams to bid for one of our most important players... despite stating we will hold onto Hladky for 6 months and let him go for free as he is worth more. You have to feel Goodwin doesn't rate a number of his XI or subs very highly given this, players not getting game time at various periods throughout the year (Durmus, Morias, McAllister, McGinn, Djorkaeff, etc), the Mullen PFA situation and his utter reluctance to use his subs. ETA - Lord Pityme covered the Hladky point above
  23. You don't have to be an expert to see he is not doing his job as a forward in any capacity. Somebody mentioned poor service - correct, the midfield fail to give him decent pass most of the time. A clinical striker would've buried that one opportunity he got however. Just as the midfield doesn't supply good service, he doesn't lay off the ball or win headers effectively. Time to try something else, personnel wise and tacticaly
