I don't think we'll finish 7th this season. I reckon we will push into the top half and we'll be willing to give him another season or 2 to see how things develop. If we make no improvement at all - of course we will look at other options. Just think we need to give the guy a chance to learn. If it takes us 2 or 3 seasons to gain promotion, so be it.

Man United very nearly sacked him.. Sometimes loyalty pays off. (sometimes it doesn't) Murray is a young manager. He needs to learn and learn fast. I reckon we should give him at least 2 or 3 seasons before we look at other options.

Was going to reply to you LordPityme but I think Scott has covered it. I'm not comparing Murray to SAF - far from it - just making the point that you don't sack a new manager after a few games - before he has a chance to learn about the club, how it operates and how to get the best out of it. Many managers have started poorly and turned it around.

Many good managers take a while to find their feet at a new club. Look no further than one Alex Ferguson...

He had a good game apart from that one shot that was right in the corner from a tight angle. He's a good keeper, more than good enough for this level.

I actually thought Murray (almost) had it right today. Stopped Rangers playing out from the goalkeeper by having Thommo and Gal press their full backs at goal kicks. Tried to test their keeper (who had a good game today in fairness) with crosses and long range efforts, he looked weak in the game at Ibrox so could see the thinking. Showed a bit of passion and determination from the sidelines, was actually communicating. As was Andy Webster who seems to be talking the rest of the guys through games. Much better. Only negative was not being able to open them up for the equaliser. On another day we could've got a result.

Tbf, it was some shot from that angle. We're just lacking a bit of quality/final ball. That comes with confidence. Murray needs to use that performance as a springboard, let them watch the game back and see how well they competed against a good side. With that effort and intensity, we will win games. Carswell isnae good enough. Thought Howieson looked ok today.

Played well against a side who are by far the best team in the league. Should've got at least a point. Be great for confidence if we beat them in the Petrofac semi. They won't be looking forward to playing us again after that! Taking the positives, if we played like that every week we would win 9 outta 10 times.
