  1. Well I wouldn't be changing my opinion based on one days figures, which are for Scotland only as the UK figures have been published yet - FSs graph was for the UK so you're changing horses mid-stream apples & oranges and all that! Plus we all know that the stattos like to take the weekend off so the figure is going to be artificially low anyway. A more relevant figure would be the rolling total for the week or does that not suit YOUR narrative? ***************** Not that I want to bang on about the lack of competency in the governments figures but the delay in the governments track&testing procedure led to them changing policy earlier in the week saying that tests could now be taken after 8 days and not 5 - you can't top changing your policy to suit the science incompetence. ****************** For the record, here is the provisional UK total for today - it's called comparing apples with apples!
  2. 80,000 according to GPs & the ONS and why would they lie? Btw @faraway saint Belgium uses the above method to calculate the Covid death total that appears on your "apples & oranges" worldometer.
  3. No, finished N/S on Wed night but made some jam from the apples from our garden earlier, in jars now but the washing up awaits which I always do while listening to music - sorry Jimi but I'm gonna stick with Paranoid. JH liked to make his own jam too, the original chorus of Purple Haze was 'Scuse me while I lick this pan". PS - Just wait for Round 2 - Free by 23!
  4. Nope, I'm quite happy to discuss events in a rational manner I'm just pointing out the obvious delight you take in the excess deaths,. Your incessant apples and oranges comparisons with Sweden, a country which has retained a publicly funded health service and the capacity and willingness (there was no free for all there) to deal with the pandemic is pointless, without the belated lockdown in March we'd have been a lot worse off. Here in the UK approaching 8 months after the first Cobra meeting where we acknowledged we were facing a crisis we still don't have a working Test&Trace system - it's our overall crap handling of the situation from a lack of preparation to the government handing out stonking contracts to it's, usually incompetent, cronies rather than the lockdown specifically that has caused our disgraceful excess death total but don't let that stop you from gloating.
  5. You've just undercut your argument, smart people learn from their mistakes and change their behaviour - you're a stuck record reduced to gloating about peoples deaths. As for virtue signalling we're all doing it but some of us realise it - like I said as if you or any of your previous personae care about the starving millions. No doubt we'll keep on quoting experts who "agree with us" comparing apples & oranges, like the song goes....
  6. 1. Nope the 4343 figure was for two weeks 10-24 April and for care homes in England & Wales only as I showed on the previous page, your figures don't add up to 4343 and therefore are clearly for something else. Dear oh dear. 2. The apples & oranges are those you chose to make an absurd claim about. Dear oh dear. 3 Yup the stats are all over the place & clearly unreliable that's what I've been saying and it's a damning indictment of the governments handling of the pandemic more than 3 months after BJ missed his first Covid-19 Cobra meeting. How can you make sensible choices when you have no reliable data to base them on? Dear oh dear.
  7. Are you getting senior antrin? We've been here before it's not an issue of technology, the UK convention on referenendum's affecting constitutional issues are that only people residing in the area affected are eligible to vote. As for your Scottishness my opinion it is subservient to your Londonness, for which you get a vote in the mayoral elections you are being denied nothing and continuing to compare apples with oranges changes nothing.
  8. Except it wasn't simply the SNP (baaaaaaaaaaad!) who signed up to the terms but all the major parties and the rules are also the same for past & presumably future referendums in Northern Ireland. Like I said comparing apples and oranges.
  9. The circumstances being that he gets a vote in London Mayoral elections, not Scottish Independence referendums, both internal UK elections - no-one is entitled to two votes. He was denied nothing and it's comparing apples with oranges that is wrong!
  10. Well the problem is you refuse to accept the validity of the Barnett Formula which has been accepted by just about every mainstream UK politician for 40 years (and I'm being generous with Farage) so we're going round in circles but you should at least be willing to accept that even your political heroine Margaret Thatcher accepted the Barnett Formula as valid so in this case it's just you and Nigel holding hands and whispering sweet nothings. Economics is not a hard science it's a mixture of political theory, gathering statistics and guesswork because you're rarely comparing like with like. I'll say it again - I don't think services will need to be cut in an independent Scotland but one area where savings will be made is defence when Trident is scrapped. I've heard the "Greece without the sun" comparison before it comes from the CPS the monetarist ultras of the Conservative Party, it was a neat headline but even they admitted it was an "impertinent comparison". Like I said in the first paragraph we're going round in circles. I'm a Keynesian and like I said three weeks ago am prepared to accept a budget deficit so long as it balances out over the economic cycle. Unless you come up with something new or a way to compare apples to apples and not whisky to retsina then we'll just have to agree to disagree.
  11. For £400k they can own their own 15% of their own smelly dump. - absolute rip-off & looks like the owners aren't really honouring their earleir promise to write off the debt.. £10p.m. over 2 years - that'd be 1667 fans which would be greater than their average home support this season. IIRC SMiSA got less than 1400 at it's peak which is probably just under half of what our home support was in the Championship the season SMiSA bought the club - 2015/16 Avg. Home Attendence 3549. OK I know I was comparing apples & oranges above but with with an average total attendance of 1925 this season you'd imagine the maximum signup would be 750ish if there was a similar proportion taking up the offer - half of the 1500 the organiser reckons would be achievable/needed. https://www.dailyrec...pledge-14626743Morton Club Together - https://mortonclubto....com/index.html
  12. A simple search gives 7 pages of your posts much of which is you conflating opinion with fact on very subject. https://www.blackandwhitearmy.com/forums/index.php?/search/&q=fact&author=bazil85&search_and_or=or I have given my reason for disagreeing with you numerous times "you're not comparing like with like" - you've just chosen to ignore this. https://www.blackandwhitearmy.com/forums/index.php?/search/&q=apples&author=Bud the Baker&search_and_or=or ********************** PS - It's not losing bottle to walk away from an argument with you, it's without doubt the sensible thing to do.
  13. That's an opinion not a fact as I pointed out there were different factors which would affect the attendance, the same is true for your other two examples - as I've said all along Apples & Oranges! The difference, Melchy is that I think you're entitled to your opinion, you don't think anyone is entitled to an opinion different to yours, like I said attritional posting doesn't win the argument!
  14. 1. As I said you were comparing apples with oranges - I said numerous time your stats do not prove what you claim, a criticism voiced by others including DumboBud in my previous post. 2. The figures provided by oaksoft on P13 of the SMiSA thread showed there was no significant increase. 3. You categorically are - it's not "big of you" admitting a grammatical mistake like I say it's denying a contradiction in the arguments you were making in different threads.! 4. That's just noise, you've changed tack so many times you've forgotten what the argument is about - home attendance at OF matches - which is down a fact even you (at times) & GLS admit is true - one of your personalities clearly has clearly forgotten posting that - the question is whether giving the OF the Family Stand for these matches instead of W6/7 has worsened the situation - I believe it has and you've failed to disprove it. ********************** You clearly do have issues with people who hold different opinions and are constantly dishonest in the arguments you make - I quit the other thread because it's pointless arguing with a liar and unless you come up with something new I won't be returning to this thread. I'll leave you with two thoughts Melchett85 You continually conflate your opinion with facts, evidence and the truth. Just because something is said by you over and over does not make it true, a fact or a even a balanced conclusion based on facts. - DumboBud Outposting is not winning the argument.
  15. 1. Keep on telling yourself this! 2. A couple of "apples and oranges" type comparisons don't prove what you claim. ****************** I'm satisfied with my opinion and I have no wish to continue the argument, you can continue with the attritional posting but after 13 pages of paraphrasing I doubt very much whether you will bring anything new to the debate, I leave an image of you in a previous life - Melchett85!
  16. Apples and Oranges, nothing new! I'll switch to a different disco classic -take the hint!
  17. In other words NO, I've already explained why I think you're comparing apples with oranges yet again I'll say if you want to change my opinion provide some evidence not assumptions!
  18. How is that relevant, if anything the home attendance is a point against your argument - even allowing for the fact it's a bit "apples & oranges" there's no way giving the family stand to the OF resulted in an extra 1600 fans attending the match. It doesn't affect my original point which is that giving the Family Stand to the OF doesn't generate an extra £86,400 game, that's just wrong - a point you've ignored 4 times.
  19. As a 16-y-o who had just arrived in the country, he made his League 2 debut aged 17 - unlike the Showbiz Stars you so obviously love. It's sad to see you reduced to comparing apples & lemons! ******************** I'd never heard of Jackson before this week but he seems a reasonable gamble,
  20. Rangers Hearts & Hibs were in the Championship in Murray's last season wit Dumbarton - so you're comparing apples & oranges like I said when the season finished they were still the best P/T team.
  21. Based on P&B presumably! Morgan & Mallan were frequently slated on here during AR's tenure, like I said elsewhere the fee Falkirk got was standard for a "prospect" in our division and far lass than the £750k pricetag from last January that infuriated some of our more excitable posters - maybe you were one of them. Hamilton look to be doing well this window, but Hearts are a Top 6 club and Isma has scored 15 goals in 35 games for them - apples and oranges. We're doing better than most clubs of our stature.
  22. I think he is the latest incarnation of The Cap'n - his posts are refreshingly swearword free and his skill in comparing apples to oranges and presenting whimsical conclusions from this is certainly reminiscent of "The Great Man". Whoever he is, he's an entertainer.
  23. Yeah, comparing apples to oranges has always been one of The Captain's specialities.
  24. Yet another case of him comparing apples with oranges to show he's bananas!
  25. Now I really didn't intend to post again on this thread but this is a clear example of the ambiguity in the information coming from supporters of the CIC, 10000hours clearly states that part of the Corporate Subscription of £10k p.a. will have to be paid to the club. Secondly you have guys like Stuart Dickson trying to reduce the net cost of membership of the CIC by lobbying for discounts in club goods and services for CIC members. Finally the figures quoted last night for Turnover (£2.5M) and Wages (£1.3M) are way out of line with what they've been in the last two years 2009/10 Turnover £3.875M & Wages £2.955M 2008/09 Turnover £3.546M & Wages £2.734M Now in terms of wages we might not be comparing apples with apples if the £1.3M refers only to the player budget but I'll be surprised if the figure for Turnover was correct, was it a slip of the tongue or the typist?
