I drove past on Saturday and notice a lot of machinery, the concrete slabs have been dug up and piled to one side. Are Chivas building new warehouses? Well I suppose they could just expand in the opposite direction, fully taking over the old St Mirin's Academy site which has also recently seen it's rubble mounds flattened out and prepared for future development. FS Posted December 8, 2013 Report Share Posted December 8, 2013 Have heard that five retail units are going up in a block standing 90 degrees to the B&Q store and facing the other shops. Three units are already let apparently to the following... Unit 9 (nearest to B&Q) is to be a 4,000 sq ft MAPLINS, Unit 10 4,994 sq ft unit still to let, Unit 11 15,000 sq ft WREN KITCHENS, Unit 12 20,000 sq ft DUNELM MILLS, Unit 13 9,764 sq ft still to let The former John Menzies depot tucked inbetween the Washington Road entrance and the M8 slip was demolished the other day and a Lidl store will be built there soon. Also heard that there may be a gym and nursery looking at the remaining two new retail units or possibly at the Renfrew Road retail site next to the B&M store by Reid Kerr.
