Financial Irregularities

"Hereford were further relegated to the Conference from League Two at the end of the 2011–12 season.

Hereford were expelled from the Conference on 10 June 2014 due to financial irregularities"

If only our administrators had shown the same size of balls, half of Scottish football wouldn't be obsessing about one of our ugly near-neighbours trying to choke themselves to death. They'd be deid already.

Anybody any idea what Hereford did that's worse than the omnishambles on Edmiston Drive?

Could the answer be one of the following,

1) They had the wrong kind of handshake.

2) They had a lack of religious bigotry.

Hereford managed to run up £1.3m of debt. Some of the money in unpaid wages, some in respect of rent to the local council who own the football pitch, and some to HMRC. The club has faced two winding up orders and a few days ago the Conference League told them that if they wanted to retain Conference Premiership status they would have to pay in a £300,000 bond to the Conference League - money which couldn't be touched to help run the club. Their new club Chairman who bought the club for £2 a few weeks ago said he couldn't afford that and promptly resigned leaving the club with just one director - the previous owner of the club who caused all the problems in the first place.

The fans at Hereford have raised £200,000 for the club and they're currently negotiating with the council to allow them to rent the ground for the new season while they liquidate the old club and start up a new one at the bottom tier of the Conference.
