He's presumably deleting them because of the lack of free speech and the tendency of people trawling through them to find evidence for a witch hunt. There's nothing illogical or contradictory about a free speech campaigner who has done this - the fact he felt the need to delete his tweets is what has motivated him to campaign for freedom of speech.
