Wouldn't trust this board to go my messages. No doubt that Gillespie was the driving force and we are left with SMiSA amateurs and people who are only there because they work for Kibble. The fan ownership and being part owned by a charity is about to come crashing down.
The Cup win was fantastic but lets be honest the league campaign was a total shambles all season. Terrible recruitment. players sold, sent on loan leaving us with absolute dross on the bench incapable of changing anything in a game. That legacy will continue this season with the amount of deadwood in the squad and now we appoint a manager who looked and sounded MILES out his depth. Performaces against Livi, Dundee, Killie, Dundee United and two games against Thistle as bad as there was all season and should have been the end for him.
A quite unbelievable decision by a club turning themselves into a laughing stock. Every media outlet in the country announcing the appointment and from St Mirren.....silence!...What an embarrassment.
Whilst he was not my choice of manager I will support him and the team as I have for 60 years, even during the 90s. But the board must support him with a decent budget to overhaul what is left of a threadbare squad. As others have stated we have too many project and injury prone players., I'm all for giving youth a chance but we need a core of experience right through the team
