    • Your anecdotal story, as nice as it is, doesn't prove the NHS, across the board are all "hard working", as mines in response to @rabuddies doesn't prove they aren't. You'd be extremely foolish to think so. There are understaffing issues, no doubt, as there are in many industries. That alone is NOT an excuse for the mess the NHS is in, and always has been. Your last sentence sums you  up, it's relevant to the discussion, your earlier "needy" posts were not. My opinion, backed but by facts, are mainly aimed, as I've mentioned above, at the mismanagement by the NHS, although, again, anyone who thinks ALL workers are "angels" really needs to give their head a wobble.  Here's a some facts on the compensation claims and costs that NHS Tayside on it's own, have paid out over the last few years. While this focuses on "feck ups" it's increasing year on year  https://www.nhstaysidecdn.scot.nhs.uk/NHSTaysideWeb/idcplg?IdcService=GET_SECURE_FILE&dDocName=PROD_387005&Rendition=web&RevisionSelectionMethod=LatestReleased&noSaveAs=1 Here's a recent scandal that clearly show the incompetence that's rife through the NHS. There's only so many times people can use this "over stretched" excuse when babies are dying.  https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cg7ne5d2e3do I'd like to hear the response of the poor parents who have lost babies that you think the NHS are ALL hard working angels. It also highlights the current "self policing" is a license to cover up as much as[possible when required.  Back to my original point, this pointless holiday is another waste of valuable funds that will add to the delays in treatment and surgical procedures.
