I am over seventy now, and I had my regular eye test at the end of last year. Without asking, the optician said to me that my eyesight was OK for driving. When that is the case, it should not be too difficult for a notification to be sent to me or even the DVLA.

👍👍👍 I've been "whining" about the tragic "accidents" simply caused by older drivers for years.  Mostly so avoidable.  I'd still advocate a mini test after 70 as the lack of awareness of older drivers and ingrained habits since, well, lots of years ago, should be filtered out to stop the needless injuries and deaths.
