2020 uk company Skylon which the British government and private investors have poured billions into expect to roll out their First hypersonic aircraft.  London to Sydney in 4 hours none stop. In the 6ts , the British and the French decided supersonic flight with the Concorde was the way forward, whilst the Americans , having failed with their SST , went for capacity with the 747. In the end , capacity proved to be more viable and Concorde always ran at a loss. .often being described as a white elephant . .

 

With the Skylon having a projected capacity of 30 passengers , is it ever going to be viable. .

Wouldn't fancy being a guinea pig test passenger on that. Incredible flight time though.

Indeed , I reckon you would need to be suited and booted for that on as you are going to the edge of space. .
