  1. A bit of a selection dilemma for the Buddies next season - with a fully fit Brophy and also Main in his current form, will Greive be able to claim a starting place in the team? We may also sign another striker to provide cover for injury and to encourage competition for the starting role, assuming that we will normally start with two strikers. Remember also that Robinson seems to rate Kieran Offord who by the way does not appear in the club's website for the first team squad - have I missed something?
  2. Erhahon's passing ability could be a telling factor today - there aren't many other alternatives in this lineup. Let's hope he is switched on this afternoon.
  3. I see Alex Gogic is now considering staying on in Scotland - https://news.stv.tv/sport/alex-gogic-happy-to-consider-a-future-in-scotland Hope we are trying to entice him to extend his stay with the Buddies.
  4. I know it's a bit early to come to this view - but if Robinson can continue to get the best out of Curtis Main, then it should be a bit of a cake walk to get the most out of Erhahon next season. Goodwin was not recognised for his ability to get the best out of existing players but to buy in new players and give them the chance to shine at St Mirren - eg. Ronan and McGrath.
  5. Ethan is about to celebrate his 21st birthday on 9th May. He has the potential to have a big career in the game - he has the talent but has yet to prove he has the same sense of urgency of a John McGinn or Kenny McLean. If he could add that to his game we would be talking about a transfer value much in excess of the current £200,000 being talked about.
  6. Unfortunately, Curtis Main has not performed to that level many times this season, but let's give him his due and acknowledge his contribution today in what was probably the most significant result of the season. Until the Buddies can attract crowds that would allow us to compete budget-wise with clubs in the top six, then we will suffer many seasons like this. It will be interesting to see if Robinson's close season signings can lift us into the top six for the first time in recent history.
  7. Now we can relax and look forward to the most exciting part of the year - the close season and all the speculation about who is going and who is coming in.
  8. Every single player gave their all today. Pity that our season was disrupted by the manager who promised to bring stability to the club abandoning ship mid season.
  9. Main is having his best game so far for the Buddies.
  10. Plenty of effort - not much finesse. I would settle for a draw now.
  11. We might have fluked it if we beat Sevco tomorrow but now it's too late for that after today's results. However, over the season so far, we did not deserve to finish in the top six - neither this nor last season. And it's anyone's guess what difference it would have made if Goodwin had stayed with the other team in the all red strip.
  12. Our midfield and attack was no worse today than in the days of Goodwin - although that's not saying a lot. What was significantly poorer was our defence, which previously was our strength.
  13. IF we had won that today we would have been sitting 5th instead of Motherwell. Our defence let us down today. Unlike some on here, I thought Erhahon was one of our better players today.
  14. Not playing in the black & white stripes again - would be interesting to establish if we've played in the all red outfit more often this season.
  15. Realistically looking like we'll finish 10th. At the moment we don't deserve to be any higher than we are.
  16. We can relax now and enjoy a comfortable bottom six finish. So long as we don't slip into the relegation zone.
  17. I was not specifically having a dig at Tait - we were weak defensively on both flanks. However, the team gave 100% effort. Both full backs are reasonable going forward but less so defensively.
  18. We were weak defensively on our left flank and that is what cost us the match. On the other hand, it could be argued that Hearts wide men were their main strength - as well as their overall ability to keep possession and run into space - that is something we must aspire to improve upon. For it is our biggest failing.
