  1. Decided to give this one a miss, having already paid £40 in the last week, and also aware of how badly Saints under Lennon have fared against his team. I fear that a heavy defeat is coming yet again which will still mean ONE point off the millionaires since Lennon arrived. Now that Hopper has left, I wonder who will take over his mantle to score against us. As for transfer window signings, none please until we get a new manager.
  2. Heard Lennon on radio there and he sounded as though he was expecting to lose. Must be used to it by now I suppose. No money should be given to him for players, he will just waste it as usual. Best thing all round would be for his contract to run out and leave, he is a very poor decision maker and a bad advert for Saints
  3. Should certainly spell the end for Lennon, his record is atrocious.
  4. Having paid £40 to attend the last two games in four days, when I asked the ticket office to exchange my Hearts ticket from west to main stand (same price) I was told this can't be done. So despite grossly overcharging the public,no courtesy shown to supporters. Incidentally the ground was barely half full so moving shouldn't have been a problem. How to drive fans away in one easy lesson!
  5. Could someone please inform me who is Adam Campbell ? Is this a player we are signing after Jan 1 and is he a proven goalscorer ? I am very reluctant to believe that ANY player signed by Lennon will be a success, particularly one whom I have never heard of. I assume he is a reserve player somewhere ? The current goal drought is alarming and there appears no back up to Thompson since the start of the season, which is very unfair on this player. We are also likely to lose McGowan pretty soon I imagine, although he is no great loss anyway and rarely has a shot on target, never mind score. I know that my posts are forever running down Lennon but I genuinely believe he is the worst mamager in the league, and has been since he came here. It is imperative to replace him either very soon, or at the least, not renew his contract. I am hopping mad at the current form and could see very few points gained over the next four games. Sincerely hope not, but fear the worst.
  6. Yet another defeat in the offing I think. When was the last time we scored a league goal ? Lennon needs his thinking cap on to save his job.
  7. Many on this forum when asked about whether to keep Lennon or get rid , have said "give it till xmas", which I suppose is the end of the year. In which case, the year 2013 has seen us play 33 league matches, winning only 6 of them. League form seems to be the yardstick as it keeps us in the top division and cup competitions appear secondary, as no funds have been made available for players despite winning a trophy. Its just my opinion, but 6 wins in 33 attempts is a pretty miserable return.I could go on and add that the acquisition of players from outwith the club has also been a miserable failure. Just as well one or two of our young home bred players have come through to save the day. We did win a national trophy, having miraculously eliminated our nemesis, Celtic, at the penultimate hurdle. This has masked the league failure to a great extent, and management and players lived off this success for a long period. Relinquishing the trophy at the first attempt to a lower division team was also hard to take. The recent form has seen us win a few matches - all against bottom end teams - but goalscoring seems to elude us the last couple of games. All in all a rather disappointing year - cup win notwithstanding - and a vast scope for improvement. Should the manager be allowed to continue, given his record since taking the helm ? Unfortunately not in this mere amphibians opinion. I will now hop back under my stone to avoid the flak I will no doubt receive for daring to tell it like it is.
  8. Surely you must realise I would HOP out from under that rock, lol.
  9. It seems that any time there is an advance cup draw, where we still have to qualify, its one where there appears nothing to look forward to. I cant imagine a worse draw than Tannadice at present, even if we do manage to beat QOS. Admittedly the cup throws up surprises but on current form it looks too difficult for us.
  10. Why is it clear I`m not a Saints fan and dont go to matches ? If I wasnt a fan why would I bother making a comment. I dont think he does ok with the budget, quite the reverse, if you had read the post. He has wasted a fortune in paying players not up to it. Anyone can make a few mistakes in the transfer market, this chap has made a career out of it.
  11. Its well documented that Saints are believed to be a poor club, unable to pay transfer fees and therefore have to pick up players unwanted by decent teams. To this end, Lennon has fulfilled this belief in his signings - maybe one or two excepted - so no surprise that this player who has been seconded from english lower leagues is unable to cut it in the SPFL. He is in good company mind. I can think of a dozen or so like him who have been signed and vanished without trace. The point is, how can a club, claiming poverty, persist in allowing the signing of sub standard players and paying them off or freeing them ? Perhaps thats one of the reasons the fans are having to pay extortionate ticket prices.Or perhaps whoever sanctioned these signings should not be in a position to make so many mistakes.
  12. Saints may not be the worst offenders in the pricing league, but £20 is still far too much for the standard of play on offer. And why is it necessary to make games all-ticket, no-one else does this.? As far as I am aware, the ground has never been full for any match either. This is purely my opinion, I dont want a barrage of insults for daring to express it either. If anyone doesnt agree, thats fine.
  13. At least you recognise this. May I point out - as a mere amphibian - that sarcasm is the lowest form of wit.
  14. Agree with most of above. Lennons signing of players record is very poor and whilst the recent few matches have seen an upturn - apart from Saturday and the thrashing at Tannadice - it does not justify extending his contract. Our home record is still rotten, this is something that needs to be addressed. One bright spot for me is the new Keeper, looks a good`un. I trust Lennon had nothing to do with recruiting him.
  15. I must have read the thread topic wrongly, I thought it said "Lennon must go". Nevertheless, I asked what I consider to be a reasonable question. If any of the other geniuses who replied to me have the answer, please carry on.
  16. A question for Lennon. Can you tell me what has happened to most of the players you signed during the close season ?
  17. I am in complete agreement with this. Lennon has pushed his luck as well on too many occasions.I concede we won the League Cup in good fashion but the lows heavily outweigh this success. Last season, as well as the record since the start of this year, we lost 6 league matches in a row. Most managers would have been despatched after that. There are other things I find hard to ignore, the very poor record of signing players who fail to make an impact and are sent away having contributed nothing. The pathetic record against Celtic (cup win excepted)and the failure to advance the league position in three seasons, really escaping relegation because of an even poorer team than us each time. Attendances have dwindled due to lack of home success and I cannot be the only one who winces when I see or hear Lennons attempts at interviews in the media. I could put up with things if we were to go on some kind of extended winning run, but I doubt this will happen. I think it best all round if the managers contract is terminated when it expires, unless we go on yet another all too familiar losing streak.
  18. I wouldnt say that any team we beat is automatically how you describe it, but surely its beyond dispute that the current Hearts team is weakened beyond repair and unlikely to be strengthened before the season ends. The main point is that 90% of Saints fans, those who only attend home games, have barely seen wins or decent performances over the last couple of seasons. For that , I blame the person who signs the players and picks the team.
  19. I am still of the opinion that two home league wins in ten and a half months is inexcusable for a club manager and do not think that defeating Hearts, who are by far the weakest team in the league, is reason to remove the heat from Lennon. Perhaps I am pessimistic by nature but i fear we will lose yet again tomorrow to what is a jinx team. The question is, what happens to Lennon should this occur ?
  20. This is my first time posting on here, previously only read posts but decided to make a contribution. It appears that over the course of a week, during which Saints have managed a draw and a win, the attitude to Lennon has changed radically. Would I be right in thinking that many fans have forgiven the manager his awful recent record and threat of possible dismissal, on the basis of a home draw and a win against what is undoubtedly the weakest team in the league ? Not wishing to take anything away from the last two results - they were long overdue - but shouldnt a decision be taken after a few wins in a row before congratulating someone who has only brought to an end a succession of failures ?
