Only at St Mirren could we have a Bod so desperate to flog the club that, we approach a new season with f**k all playing and coaching staff. I fully understand their reasons for wanting to sell, and applaud their actions in pulling the club out of a very desperate hole. But by Christ this is a right royal f**k up of the highest order that was totally avoidable no matter who they wanted to have as manager next season. Can you see the likes of Newcastle wanting to send their young starlets here again... To a club that will have half a squad and no management by close of play today? This desperate long drawn out attempt to sell something no one seems to want to buy has paralysed this club. Since they,ve blown AWP out again they don,t even have a collective club-crested mug to piss in!

So if there is any truth in this it's surely a deliberate ploy to stunt ST sales..? What other reason would there be to bring this cretin to Paisley? As Danny waits to find out where the 'Finger Of Fate' will be inserted...... Has anyone considered whatever their opinion who may succeed him should the 'Finger' go up???? So far all that seems to be forthcoming is a guy from a lower league whose won nothing.... How will that guarantee a higher league finish, dramatically improved performance and squad selection? Will he be using his extensive network of contacts in the lower leagues to re-build the squad..? Has anyone considered that if a new manager is appointed his track record and ability to use contacts to bring half decent players in will help all our decent out of contracts players and anyone that could command a fee decide if they want to stay or take another offer? Bring an untried manager from the lower leagues in who will struggle to attract/ persuade good players to stay/join and we'll sure as eggs are eggs be fielding a team of championship triers .... Again!

If Danny gets punted they,ll be opportunities at Hibs, Hearts, Killie, Morton and maybe Dundee Utd. Which means will get either Butcher, Locke, Johnson or Shiels...

With the Bod's continual dithering we'll probably see Danny off to Killie or Hibs, and us being saddled with another completely untried/untested inexperienced manager who thinks the cart horses that ploughed his field last season will suddenly become magnificent race horses in the premiership. OK so who is going to replace Danny and improve our squad, style performance and achievements? All I hear is we don't want Gary Bolan... if you want a change, surely you know what you want to change to?

I'd like the board to be decisive today and map out the future for not only the manager but the club at large. However....... History tells us they'll fudge the issues.... offer Danny less basic wage with a bonus that would increase his wage if he achieves top six, and cut his playing budget for next year. all in the hope that Danny and not the board will make the decision. I hope he calls their bluff and accepts the offer.

They need to be capable of landing a national trophy and be clear that a seventh place Finnish would be deemed a disappointment, and reason to terminate their contract. When Danny sits down to have his talk with the Bod (or new bod) he'll be in a reasonably confident mood when he pushes forward the sheet of paper that highlights a national trophy won, and highest league Finnish for 25 years...... It won,t and doesn't actually matter that there were poor results/ performances along the way this season. It,s not where you start it's where you Finnish! And what can,t talk, can,t lie!
