  1. It may well be table toppers v basement boys. Here's hoping. I know there a couple of games to be played before then with one being at home but Alba will skew the crowd that really should attending that fixture with the timing of ko. I really would love to see every available buddie down at St Mirren Park backing the buddies at home and getting as much cash into our club as possible ensuring we have enough funds to offer Morgan improved terms, new players in January etc. This really has the making of being a very special season as the team are scoring for fun and attending games at St Mirren Park has become a pure joy. I can't quite remember the size of the crowds that attended the 1999/2000 winning season home games but they were decent and the energy about the crowd was just brilliant. It feels very similar to what it is now. I don't think the club ever did divulge how many season tickets were sold this season but they must be the best figures at the new stadium. The drive to get 1000 in the West bank did the trick. Would love to see the home crowd grow each week ensuring we were getting over 5,000 saints fans in attendance. Wonder if the club would put out A rallying call to the punters. A bit of a tall order for this one but surely we can get over 4,500 buddies watching a team playing as well as we are and making a real fist of getting top spot. St Mirren 4 Brechin City 0 Reilly (x2), Morgan, Smith Crowd 4,501
  2. Well done Jack Baird who I thought played pretty well yesterday. Everyone has their favourite players and those that they don't like. A lot of people seem to hunt certain players and have them earmarked as not good enough but I think every player is going to play their part in what is shaping up to be the most memorable season for some time.
  3. We're top of the league and you're no! Happy days! Didn't play well but still won. Sign of a great side and we have as good a chance as anyone of winning this league. This season we really should be looking to get a minimum of 5,000 home fans at each home game. Please spread the word and bring a buddie to each of the next few home games. This side deserve a packed stadium behind them every week. I would love to see the club push another bring a buddie campaign. This side under Ross are going places. Lap it up buddies. We really are going in the right direction with key players like McGennis, Davis and Gary Mac still to return. Have a great Saturday night every buddie! Off out into Glasgow with Mrs Zo to celebrate. :-)
  4. Really looking forward to this game. Unfortunately not been able to get to a game since the trip to Cappielow, which was very disappointing and desperate to see us in action again. If we perform to our best and take our chances then we should be too good for Inverness and get a win which could take us top of the league depending on how Dunfermline and United get on in their games. I think we will win this one. St Mirren 5 Inverness 0 Reilly (x3), Baird and Morgan
  5. Sadly missing this game as away for the weekend. For that reason I think we will win it. Think we will turn our best performance of the season, with everything clicking and a 2-1 win for the buds. Reilly and McGinn. This should see a crowd of over 5,000 but United never seem to travel in large numbers so 4,700.
  6. Just about to set off to the Bankhouse. Place should be jumping today ahead of the game and let's hope it's the same after. If the team turn up and put in as good a shift as they did for the bulk of last week's game then we should get some sort of result. Come on ye saints!
  7. I just get this feeling that Darryl Duffy is going to be a massive success at St Mirren this season. There is something about him that suggests he is a big character in the dressing room, in a positive way, with a terrific knack of scoring goals. I think he will do really well for us this season and might actually back him to score tomorrow.
  8. Not been down to Cappielow for a few years and also buzzin. [emoji41] Quick pint in the bankhouse then bus down to the game. Bring it on!
  9. I would imagine if there was pay at the gate or porta cabin in place for away tickets tomorrow that would could still sell an extra 200-300 tickets if not more. Unlikely but I wonder if Morton might announce something in the morning that they will have a pay at the gate facility tomorrow. Imagine a club like Morton turning away thousands of pounds when the club is so cash strapped. Surely worth it for them to sort something out for this one game. This will be by far the largest away support they will get at Cappielow in the league. Bonkers!
  10. Welcome to the club Darryl! I really hope this doesn't spell the end of Sutton as he a cracking big player and will be a real asset to us this season as will every player who takes to the field for us. Hopefully we get the best out of Darryl in his time at the club. Good luck Darryl!
  11. What train time are most people getting down to Cappielow? Never got the train down and quite fancy it but wondered if it would be better just to get a supporters bus down instead.
  12. Brechin at home on 30th September sounds like a plan Brian. [emoji106]
  13. Mrs Zo has sanctioned a day pass for the game. [emoji41] There will be a huge crowd full of expectation and a brilliant atmosphere in the away end. It's going to be tough but Stelios and Gary Mac to score. Let's hope Samson can keep a clean sheet and we get any kind of win as next two games are tough away to Livingston and at home to United. See you all at Cappielow on Saturday.
  14. Popped down to the ground at 1pm yesterday and bought my 5 year old son the home top and ten minutes later i was at Ralston training ground and the badge was hanging off. Whilst buying the strip two people came in returning strips because the badge had fallen off. You would think the club should be rectifying every strip from that first faulty batch before selling them. Poor show.
  15. Oops! Still getting used to the new signings names.
  16. We need to keep Sutton but why not also sign Brian Graham on loan. We can't expect to make a push for promotion with just Sutton, Reilly and Stewart as our striking options. Surely our budget hasn't all been spent. If we get off to a decent start in the first few league games we might well get over 5,000 when United come at the end of the month. That would surely be a boost to the clubs coffers and help with signing of the likes of Brian Graham.
  17. That was a great win today. We didn't even play anywhere near our best and still ran out fairly comfortable winners after a shakey first 20/30 mins. Everyone in a saints top played their part in a good win without any one player playing to their full potential plus a few key players still to return and more signings likely in the next few weeks. It is encouraging as Falkirk are going to finish in the top 4 and to be beat them is great. The disappointing results and performances in a few pre season games may actually be a massive blessing in disguise. A wake up call for fans and players alike. Plenty to be quietly confident about tonight as not many sides will beat a good Falkirk team 3-1 in the league this season when not playing to their full potential. There will be some travelling support at Cappielow next week. Bring it on!
  18. Does the club let non members in after the game? I know this has been done for some games in the past and wasn't sure if it was for every game or not.
  19. Really looking forward to the game. Taking my son and nephew to the game so bringing along a small fortune to fund the hot dog and drinks frenzy. At least the queues won't be too big with us getting the whole West Stand. Prior to that I am heading out to Ralston for 1pm to watch my other nephew play for St Mirren against Morton in their first game of the season. The weather will be decent so should see a good crowd of over 4,500 at St Mirren Park generating a great atmosphere. St Mirren 1 Falkirk 1 Crowd 4,798
  20. I know previously SMISA had helped fund part of the panda club and it was free for Season Ticket holders. I thought this was continuing into this season but obviously not and that is a real shame.
  21. Shull be delighted when he signs for us, as is the rumour, in the next week or two. Welcome back Shankland!
  22. Not been to corporate for a few years now but always enjoyed the experience. Hopefully get back sometime soon and sample this fine wine some people are talking about. I wonder if the club have seen a slight drop in numbers since the 1877 club opened up?
  23. Queen of the South game sounds like a good plan to me with trip to 1877 club post match and bankhouse or similar venue after that.
