  1. I don’t think we’ve been playing for a draw at all. We’ve just been utterly woeful in the final third.
  2. I’m liking our aggression and we look solid at the back, but final ball in attack is honkin so far. A St. Mirren failing through the years.
  3. What the f**k was that there from Lyons? Lost his man brilliantly with a wee drop of the shoulder, then passed it to the invisible man.
  4. I take it that the unfair advantage they get from having two goalies is cancelled out a bit by the fact that Bachmann is probably a shite center forward.
  5. Same shape as the Livi game then, with Lyons and McAllister in for McGinn and Dreyer.
  6. Some may say Tom, that the wearing of a tracksuit for any purpose other than travelling to or from a stint of physical sporting endeavour, is in itself a criminal offence.
  7. So what you’re saying is when we inevitably meet in the Champions League you’ll be supporting the Toon!
  8. Sorry JS, although on reflection it may have sounded like it, I wasn’t having a go about the 2 clubs thing, just merely stating a fact that I don’t understand the concept. I couldn’t give a shit about any other club side, regardless of what country or league they play in. Supporting a football team to me is driven by a sense of belonging i.e. the club belongs to me because I’m from Paisley. It falls into the same category for me as not understanding people who don’t support their home town team (assuming they have one of course). Your allegiance to Newcastle is obvious. Out of nothing more than curiosity, what is your link with St. Mirren?
  9. The point I’m making is that it is (in my opinion) pointless to say if they don’t get promoted his job will be on the line. That’s just an obvious statement of fact. That doesn’t mean his coat is on s shoogly peg at the moment. Mainly because (again in my opinion) Sunderland will comfortably get promoted. Time will tell.
  10. So unless you’ve got the support of all of the fans, all of the time, then your coat is on a shoogly peg? Nonsense. Ross is rightly lauded by the majority of Sunderland fans. Saying the fans might turn on him if they don’t get promoted is a work of art in stating the obvious. It’s a bit will saying Rangers fans will turn on Gerrard if they don’t finish in the top 6. True but bloody unlikely. Sunderland will get promoted because they have s bloody good manager who is going to get them there. By your own admission, as a Newcastle fan (never did understand the concept of supporting two football teams by the way) you are never going to say anything positive about Sunderland.
  11. Seems pretty popular here. https://www.readytogo.net/smb/threads/jack-ross.1464490/
  12. Naw Jansen. Van Hanagem didnae play for Ajax.
  13. Naw. He played for them though.
  14. Blimey that's a bit harsh. I would probably have just castigated him.
  15. Don’t think it’s really a weakness of ours as such Mattman. Think it’s just our place in the foodchain. Young players who know they are good, are unlikely to tie themselves down for any length of time, particularly when they get to about 20. Even on occasions when we have managed to tie players down we’ve tended to get pretty derisory sums for them as other clubs know they only have to pay clubs like us buttons. I’m honestly not sure there’s much the club can do about that. It’s just a fact of life.
  16. Depending on when we play Dundee at Dens Park, I’d like to think we’ll have more in bag than one more win or two draws. Even if the Dens game is the first after the split, we’ve got 5 more games before then!
  17. That’s my point though. We had a wee purple patch recently with Mallan, Magennis and Morgan, but not having anyone in the squads is probably our more common default position. It’s hardly unusual. Doesn’t mean we’re giving up on youth, or even that we don’t have any decent youth players. It just means that currently the powers that be deem that other teams have better youth players than us.
  18. Well ah suppose it wasnae a big fight in comparison to the one at the biscuit factory the night before. 2 bandits hit a penguin ower the heid wi a club and them made a breakaway in a taxi.
  19. There was a big fight in there last week. Pretty bad apparently. Some guy ended up in a korma.
  20. Sorry, I must’ve missed us signing the “divine right” agreement to have players in the Scotland U21 squad.
  21. Absolutely nothing more than pure speculation at the moment, but a few sources saying that Brendan Rogers is going to go after John McGinn in the summer. Are we entitled to any more sell on there i.e. if Hibs make more money through any sell on they agreed with Villa, are we entitled to a third of that as well?
  22. Have to agree HSS, the noise was deafening. Like Party Polotics said, I too found myself looking to the linesman and as soon as I realised the goal definitely stood it was bonkers time. My poor wee nephew got launched about 10 feet in the air! . Looking across at the lads in W7 was superb. Absolute scenes.
