Working in London this week and one of my colleagues is a Leyton Orient fan. Unsolicited by me, he said "Your team have signed a really good player in Kellerman". Said he's seen him play for Aldershot a few times and was very impressed with him. Described him as a "flair player". I'm hoping that doesnae just mean he sells carpets in his spare time.

I'd love to allow myself to get carried away with the Guti story, but surely apart from anything else, we simply couldn't afford him? You've got to imagine that as an assistant coach of some description at Madrid, he'd have been on about 10x what JR was on. Also must've been used to earning millions as a player. On the other hand if we assume that the story is genuine (which of course is a big assumption), then surely in applying for the post he'd have to have some vague idea of the salary?

To be fair Clarke could definitely have argued a case for right back. He was arguably the best, but Alex Beckett was one of my favourite players and Tommy Wilson was a cup winning legend (as well as a cracking marauding right back).

I know FS that given the name you have selected for your alias, you're probably not trying very hard to disguise the fact it's you, but if you were, you'd be really rubbish at it.

JC definitely ticks a lot of boxes. As you say I think he'd bring a great work ethic and he had pretty broad experience, particularly from his playing days. Probably the only Scottish player since with 1980s who could even have been remotely considered world class. My big problem would be his reputation for being a terrible man manager. He seems to have pissed players off wherever he's been. He's also a bit of a tool, so I don't believe he'd get much leeway from our fans. Jury is out for me on this one, but I certainly wouldn't be devastated.

An absolute quality player and a genuine character too. Very very funny guy. Terribly sad. Played. At a time when Aberdeen just seemed to consistently beat us, but he was a special player and I always had the utmost respect for him.

I’m obviously having a really bad day today. I read your post as an accusation of skullduggery on the part of JR when no one really has any knowledge of what when on.
