Good ETA St. Lucifer and excellent advice to Danny. I mean most potential employers (in the footballing world) would see failure to renew a contract as completely different to getting sacked. Thinking about it, its clearly a massive vote of confidence. I'm guessing the St. Mirren board probably thought he was too good for us and deserved a much better job somewhere else. Our board was lovely like that.

In fairness Callum, most managers get sacked eventually. A few get poached like JR but most just get sacked. Doesn't mean they haven't done anything good. Fergie, Tom Hendrie and Danny Lennon all got sacked. Do you think we shouldn't have employed any of those.

Have we not already established that a swap deal makes no difference? Doesn’t the swapped player simply get valued and that value is taken into consideration?

Barring a couple of games and one massive goal I actually wasn't that impressed with him and thought he was massively overrated by our fans. Dummet was always the far better of the two Newcastle lads.

See I know nothing about this guy, but I really wouldn't be aversed to us going down this type of route. Something a bit fresh and different. Instead of the same old merry go round. I suppose we're fortunate that this time round we appear to have some solid names in the frame as well as a couple of interesting left field options.

Not to be pedantic, well I am being pedantic but there you go. I'm pretty sure Tam Forsyth and Willie McVie never played in the same team for Motherwell. I remember McVie well as a Motherwell player, but I only remember Forsyth as a ***. Also I would say Tam Forsyth was a brilliant defender rather than just a thug.
