  1. You were doing quite well until the last paragraph!!
  2. I'm very sad to announce that my time at St. Mirren has come to an end. The 9 years I've spent at the club have, without doubt, been the most enjoyable of my career. I'm extremely proud to have played for St. Mirren and, of course, to leave with 3 winners medals which I will treasure for the rest of my life. The club has given my family and I the most amazing memories and I've made some of my best friends in football there. I'd like to thank everyone involved with the club, from the board to the fans, for their support throughout the years and I'd like to wish Tommy, Jim & Gary all the best for the future. Finally, I'd like to thank my past and current team mates. It has been a pleasure to have shared a dressing room with these guys and they have played a huge part in my memories at the club. COYS
  3. I'm getting a funny smell suddenly! - but, I will humour you nonetheless! Are you suggesting that rUK or iScotland won't have representation in France post-indy? ok then! France obviously isn't a good example, but in France & every other country that has a UK embassy, as a Scotsman am I not entitled to approx. 9% of the benefits of each? (With rUK people getting the other 91%) Proprtionately I/us pay 9% of the running costs & get 9% of the benefits - how will that change? Plus, I'm quite sure we will come to some sort of reciprocal arrangements with our southern neighbours, so, in-effect a traveller (such as your "friend") will notice little difference.
  4. In a roundabout way - that's exactly what it does ask! - It's a bit of a cliche' but, if Scotland were an independent country today, should we vote to JOIN the union? The point I was making was that status qou is not an option with a NO vote! either way things are going to change for Scotland, I think even Cameron made that point last week. I could never hold my head high at Hampden again if I voted no. (hee-haw chance o that happening mind you!)
  5. Firstly, that is the problem. If SQ was a 3rd option on the ballot paper then that would be a different scenario - it's not however, so those who say they won't vote Yes, have to realise the implications of a No vote - SQ is NOT an option. Why bring Celtic into it? I have no interest in them - I'm a saints fan! I fail to see the connection between a Yes / no vote and CFC playing wherever. Of course the people pay for the diplomats & staff. do *I* not pay for them at the moment? Or, should I be getting a tax refund? Ya beauty!!
  6. The teams you mentioned are all independent nations. NONE of whom wish to amalgamate with their neighbours - why should WE ? A No vote in September will mean we have forfeited our claim to be an independent nation - & FIFA / UEFA will see it that way in time. Remember the "debate" about teamGB Olympic football? RE: Embassies, why would we not be represented abroad as we are at the moment? The embassies are not owned by London, but by the people of this island, of which we shall remain, regardless of the outcome of the indyref.
  7. The "song" isnt the point!!! (In fact is IS!!!! How could any SCOTITSH football / rugby fan / genaral patriot.. ever sing THAT song again with any fervour? When this opportuntity is hwre on a plate? What would be left for Scotland in the unlikely event of a No vote? Would we still sing THAT? Would be succoumbed into TeamUK?? - Think about it! Although, it is much much more than ffotball / rugby. Maybe I am rising to the bait LawStuD - but I'm biting!!
  8. How on earth are we going to "get another go" in 10 years?? - Do you really think the British constitution will allow us? It's NOW or never! Think about THAT next time you are at Hampden / Murrayfield / in front of the telly geein it "we shall still rise now.. and be a nation again.." - How is THAT going to work when we play England in October 2014???
  9. Average crowd in Div 1 ??? Thats more than we could offer I suppose!
  10. a European / Champions League cup isn't too bad though!
  11. So, back on topic - why would YOU vote Yes or No?
  12. Well they ARE at the seaside at least!!
  13. Dumbarton, Cowdenbeath & Morton - just for the novelty value!
  14. You mean like Afghanistan / Iraq (twice)
  15. Think back a few years! Millen was appointed Asst Manager, & continued to play. Along with Kevin Mgeown we had 2 captains on the park & even managed promotion. Goodwin in particular could be a masterstroke! - TC at leat knows the club well enough, and, if it is a 1 year deal, then it suits everyone. Not Mourinho granted, but I am happy for now!
  16. Stu The "Putin" argument is getting a bit tiresome now - that was news 2 weeks ago! Nothing "new" to argue?
  17. Indeed, but they will need to convince those that are "anti-Yes" to vote No on the day. Al lot of people that are saying "No" aren't really pro-no, simly unsure of a Yes vote as the prospect of what they see as change makes them feel uncertain, without considering that status-quo is not an option. - it's a totally normal reaction. The advantage the Yes campaign has is that the majority of those saying Yes WILL vote for Yes, unlike many DKs / No s, who won't bother to vote at all. I am convinced on this basis that YES WILL WIN!
  18. Apparently, he's crap on the piano, but, pretty good on the fiddle!
  19. Like counting Saints goals is a problem for us??
  20. What would UWS get out of it that's worth £28k? I'm sure they have decent A/V facilities in-house?
  21. Ah - I get it! A big outdoor lecture theatre? will be chilly in November though!!
  22. He would be ideal for the Hearts job! - Seriously!!
