Ahh yes...... Sid, dead lines. Have you (or anyone else) a plan B or C in mind if we get to Wednesday and the dead line arrives (7 to 10 days said Mr. Gilmour), and is then passed ?
It must be over a year now since Mr. Atkinson came to our club with a 'cunning plan' to buy out Mr Gilmour and his friends.
It's been 99% complete ???? for a good while now. You and your friends have spent the past few months pouring scorn on Animal,Yul, Miss Evans and others. Well it seems they might be proved right after all. Mr. Atkinson has been fairly absent from Greenhill Road over the past few weeks I hear.
Looking today at the so called shop (see also other thread) fills me with very little confidence that Mr. Atkinson is the right man for the job.

The fans are being given the owners stake so they dont start with a 2m debt to repay.

I've already asked to look at the constitution once the draft is complete and offered a few pointers.

I'm not sure how much damage, if any, can be done by a few guys on an internet site in a part of the forums where not many folk look. PR is up to the CiC people anyway so if they can sell this to the support and the local area then it doesn't really matter what a few people bumping their gums have to say. There is always a case for constructive criticism of anything. There have certainly been some decent points raised, some answered, some not, but some of the negative stuff seems to be just for the sake of it and it all becomes a bit of a parody. The people who don't want this to happen need to be as careful with THEIR PR as the CiC folk do in my opinion. To be perfectly honest I haven't really been digging into this too much as I'm only half interested and I don't have any great objections one way or another. All I want to see is a decent team on the park and the club to be well run off it. I'm not from the local area so really, the community bit won't affect me other than if it produces extra income for the club in some way.
The fact is that members of the current board with enough shares wanted to sell a controlling interest in the club. They set the price, they decide who or what they want to sell up to and that's really the end of the matter. It's up to those guys and they want £2million for the club so the CiC needs to raise that money to give to them so it has had to get that money together FIRST before anything can go forward. I think they have done a pretty good job in selling themselves and what they want to do to the funders. It would have been much easier in a situation like Motherwells where their owner basically just handed the club over without money needing to change hands. They could do something like we are doing without needing to have funding in place before it all starts up.

The "signing" of GLS is a very positive step, and must go a long way to reassure those of us who may have been in favour of a CIC concept, but had reservations as to how it would be run efficiently. Can't think of anyone better for the role, and I'm sure he'll unite most (if not all) to get right behind the CIC.
Throughout many of the online debates GLS had been championed as some kind of "leader of the disenfranchised 48%" - a position that none of his actions merited. Hopefully, his talk of unity will be heeded.
Take a look at the moral and fiscal basket cases that are littering the SPL - especially after tonight. If run properly, this CIC does present an opportunity to pull clear of the stinking mire.
PS Maybe REA has the hide of a rhino, but this week he politely answered some queries I raised via e-mail, and in a reverse of the Keegan meltdown, he "went up in my estimations".

Reading the summaries of the meeting while listening to greetin' knuckledraggers on Your Call on the tranny - what a complete contrast between our clubs and thank feck I support who I do. "Scottish football" is not f**ked - its 2 biggest clubs are. Elsewhere there are great things going on and we typify that.
