  1. What happened to the 'sack your manager' bounce ?? McManus hasn't changed anything, we are still guff.
  2. Who The Feck is at the wind-up here ? Dafty Shull as usual I suspect. The mere suggestion of Gus Macpherson returning to St Mrren is preposterous and unthinkable. The last few seasons have been intolerable but for me Macpherson would be the final, FINAL, FINAL straw.
  3. I am beginning to spot a theme. One of our most level-headed, sensible and influential contributors has spoken his mind. Our last two managers have bitten the dust within a few days of receiving condemnation on this forum from Mr Zo. They were dead men walking from then on.
  4. Looking at the lower league action in England at the weekend I was a bit surprised to see where some of our ex-loanees are playing nowadays. Paul Dummett was in the Newcastle team that beat Brighton 2-0 in the Championship. Wee Adam Campbell (remember him ?) played and scored for Notts County in their 3-1 away win at Crawley in League 2. Conor Newton was an unused substitute for Cambridge United in their 0-3 defeat at home to Luton in League 2. Cambridge are bottom of the league and will drop out of the league if they stay there. In their time with St Mirren I would have rated Newton ahead of the other two. He became a legend when he scored the most important goal for us in our recent history but his career appears to be disappearing down the toilet pan. A big shame IMO.
  5. Jim Gardner's accolade as the worst St Mirren player in my lifetime is under threat. Hutton is worse than useless.
  6. OK, I've narrowed it down to 7 or 8. Who is he ?
  7. Maybe I'm in a minority, but I think that the days of "Duelling Banjos", "Gypsies Tramps & Thieves" and "Daydream Believer / Cheer up Rajamaki" should be assigned to the past. Maybe these songs were funny a couple of decades ago but now they are simply embarrassing. The joke is over and now it is just tedious. Can we move on ?
  8. Based on that logic we didn't under-achieve in the LC. We lost to Accies (as your predicted finishing order would suggest) and we beat the other three. Ayr over-achieved by beating Accies on day 1. Accies under-achieved by only winning the table on goal difference. Hardly a crisis at this stage.
  9. I remember seeing SG handing out quite a few comps to the queue of Saints fans at Hamilton a few years ago but I missed out.
  10. To encourage puns about fish. Not mammals like porpoises.
  11. Jim Gardner. On no, that's pish not fish.
  12. Pedantry alert !! Shoo-in not shoe in. Nothing to do with footwear Stuart.
  13. I struggle to understand how the Scottish voting figures from the EU referendum could offer Nicola Sturgeon any encouragement for a "YES" result in a future independence referendum. The 62:38 split within Scotland who voted in favour of Remain tells me that 38% of the Scottish electorate do not wish to be in the EU. For Nicola Sturgeon to argue the case for a future Scottish independence referendum based on creating an independent Scotland within the EU she will automatically start that campaign with that 38% of the electorate against her. Therefore she will need to achieve 51% support for Scottish independence from the 62% that wanted to 'Remain'. I would estimate that requirement at pretty much 5 out of 6 (approx 82%) of 'Remains' also being pro-independence. Unlikely IMO.
  14. Terrible news, St Mirren has lost a diehard today. RIP Tam.
  15. It's a see-saw with Campbell Kennedy on one side.
  16. What a decision I have to face. Choice 1 : Vote "Remain" and side with a bunch of politicians I despise Choice 2 : Vote "Leave" and side with a bunch of politicians I despise. Choice 3 : Don't bother to vote at all. ITV's two-hour long referendum debate tonight has assisted my Remain / Leave dilemma. I used to think that Boris Johnson was a cock. His performance on behalf of "Leave" in tonight's tv debate has eliminated any lingering doubt about that, he is a 100% walloper. No way could I be persuaded to back anything whatsoever that Johnson supports. He is probably the "Remain" campaign's greatest asset.
  17. Dumped from the Wales squad for the Euro finals today.
  18. IMO Clarkson's diabolical lack of pace outweighs the positives expressed above. Slightly disappointed with this news.
  19. Another member of the dead at 27 club ?
