  1. I liked Newton but he was mainly honking in his second season with us and most folk thought he was only getting a game because of a clause in the loan deal. Would still give him a shot though after his performances in his first stint
  2. Should have been after him when he was out of contract at Hearts but we went for the cheap option. Shame...
  3. Got a cap for Australia last night against Macedonia....... Anyone know where he's playing these days?
  4. Perhaps this has been posted already. However, going from the clubs statement on letting Mclean go today for the rumoured £275k, why were we fed this p#sh when they rejected the £150k Fleetwood bid saying it falls way below the clubs valuation of the player? I'm sure they never meant at that point he was only worth £125k more! What the f#ck is going on at our club? A St Mirren spokesman said: "Further to media reports at the weekend we can confirm we have rejected an offer for Kenny McLean from Fleetwood Town as the offer does not come close to the club's valuation of the player."
  5. Only thing that could salvage this day by selling Mclean would be brining back Isma. All else is sh#t!!
  6. Just seen Mallan's goal on Sky Sports. What a run as finish! Contender for goal of the season
  7. Was Saturdays performance not maybe partly down to the fact the players rallied round after Thompson got sent off? Responding to feelings of injustice maybe. Not saying Teale hasn't made some positive changes, certainly better than Craig would have done in a similar situation, though I do wonder how the 90mins may have panned out with 11 players on the park. I wasn't at the game so can only speculate, but how were we playing before Thompson got sent off or was it too early in the game?
  8. Apologies. too many shandies at lunch. That one of our board met with. Basically shows that Gilmour and Co were correct to get short of Mr McGeoch.
  9. Gary Withey is his name - he just gives me the boak!! Is this not the cretin that was interested in buying our club and met with Gilmour? hmmmm....... http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/17528646 *************************************************************************************************************************** Four men have been detained by police following an investigation into the sale of Rangers Football Club in 2011. Gary Withey, David Grier, Paul Clark and David Whitehouse were held during early morning raids in England. Mr Clark, Mr Whitehouse and Mr Grier worked for Duff and Phelps, the firm appointed as Rangers' administrators. Mr Withey worked for law firm Collier Bristow, which represented Craig Whyte before he bought Rangers from Sir David Murray for £1 in 2011. All four men were held during early morning raids at addresses across the UK in an operation which involved officers from Police Scotland, Surrey Police, Cheshire Police and Thames Valley Police. Police Scotland have been investigating the sale of Rangers from Sir David Murray to Craig Whyte for over a year. 'Ongoing investigation' A spokesman for Police Scotland said: "Four men have been detained as a result of the ongoing investigation into the alleged fraudulent acquisition of Rangers Football Club. "Around 6am on Friday, Police Scotland officers, assisted by officers from Thames Valley Police, Cheshire Police and Surrey Police, attended a number of addresses in England and detained four men." The development is the latest twist in a three-year saga involving Rangers. Mr Whyte bought Rangers from Sir David Murray for £1 in May 2011 and gave an undertaking to settle its £18m Lloyds Bank debt. Craig Whyte (right) bought Rangers from Sir David Murray in 2011 It later emerged he paid the debt by selling three years of season tickets to finance firm Ticketus for £25m. Rangers entered administration on 14 February 2012, while under Mr Whyte's control, over non-payment of tax totalling about £14m. Mr Clark and Mr Whitehouse from Duff and Phelps were appointed as joint administrators. HMRC subsequently rejected a creditors agreement to allow Rangers to exit administration. The resulted in Charles Green's consortium taking control and Rangers being accepted to play in the Scottish Third Division. The administration of Rangers resulted in Mr Whyte's deal with Ticketus being declared void. The finance firm successfully sued him for £18m over the failed deal. Mr Whyte was later banned from being a company director for the maximum period of 15 years after a judge heard his conduct in dealing with Rangers was "shocking and reprehensible".
  10. Great day out and result. Only bad thing was the complete w@@k at the back of the stand that wouldn't sit down to let a young lad behind him see the game. By all means try and create some noise and get behind the team but don't drive young fans away from attending games. Absolute cretin!
  11. First time I've seen 90mins from us this season. First half we were absolutely clueless, one of the worst performances I've seen from us. After they scored we were chasing shadows until we brought on Ball. Looked a freekick on Marwood do their first goal. Ball completely changed the game second half, after he scored we were all over Thistle, great desire shown to get a win. Delighted overall to get the win though there are a few tweaks needed in the team: 1 Marwood isn't a lone striker. Only Ball can play this role. 2 Wylde was honking once again and I think if rather see, Kelly or even Plummer moved in there 3 Goodwin and Cheesy or Tess need to play centre half. Plummer very good footballer but not a centre half 4 although he wasn't great last night is have Teale starting every week. Need his experience on the pitch
  12. West Sound have not got one players name correct all afternoon. Didn't realise we had "Plummell" and "Neilson". Love hearing how "Whitehead" is playing great for Killie. Amateurs!
  13. Toshney is well....tosh! Tudor Jones would have been an option had we not signed Osborne.
  14. Don't get me wrong, TC wasn't my first choice either but he's here now. I still think he will turn it around. Ask me again though after the Killie game
  15. First goal against Killie and we'll win. I respect your opinion Pozbaird and you may well be right but getting a new manager in isn't going to change the fixture list. He's got 2 weeks to get everything sorted mentally with the players and try to get some confidence back. I wonder if Butcher or Coyle were brought in over the summer whether theyd be given the same reaction after 4 similar results. I am quite surprised at the response of some of our usually level headed posters.
  16. I don't think Tommy is going anywhere soon. Having had two days to reflect upon Saturday's result, I don't think we have a bad squad. It's clear to me that the main problem at the moment is confidence. I reckon if we get the first goal against Killie in the next game we'll go on to hammer them. I think Ball is right in that we are going to go out and destroy someone soon. When all the tension disappears we'll be hungry for goals. Bring on the abuse, but I genuinely believe that once we get that first goal we'll be fine but we need to get it soon. The longer the drought goes on though I fear for us but it's still early days.
  17. Looks no smaller than the screens at Motherwell or Kilmarnock. Not sure what all the fuss is about, it brings the club in a little extra cash.
