  1. Blind optimism and keeping the faith 2-1 Saints the fight back starts today ( I can't bear any other scenario)!!!
  2. In the spirit of near neighborness and footballing integrity I'd be disappointed if you didn't gloat we are currently dreadful - you support a diddy team - but you deserve to enjoy your moment at least you support your home town team and not one of the ugly sisters!
  3. This is from Tranmere Rovers - I'd welcome something similar
  4. Just watched the full clip total respect - true legend
  5. I gladly stand corrected Shullster - except I'm pinning my hopes on The new Saints ( are they still in the draw) ?
  6. Bad music to me is summed up in the Morcambe and wise sketch I'm playing all the right notes in re wrong order
  7. With a hardcore of 1300 people suing a small amount per month I dot think we wil be knocking on the door of European competition anytime soon
  8. Enjoyed the game - thought we were much improved in passing - both poor goals to lose - for extended periods we played in utd's half without reall threatening - thought Walsh was effective. not disheartened by the result! enjoyed catching up with few buddies before and post game slready looking at the fixtures and planning another trip north il be binning my Evertonian mate Gaz - having never seen us lose - that hoodoo is jinxed!
  9. Cheers lads! 7 of us travelling North fingers crossed for a great result!!
  10. Home win 2-1 my mate Gaz ( an evertonian ) will be in attendance - he has never seen us lose! 1 win and 3 draws !
  11. I hope you are right! wouldnt have hurt to polish a turd tho!
  12. That's a few moments of my life il never get back! Watching JR traning session seemed to me to be a bunch of highly paid sportsmen half heartily doing passive stretches - and half pace shuttle runs. then we move on to the technical skill section which involved a short shuttle pass - switch feet - and change direction of the ball - I reckon that's about page 8 of the shit coaches lazy drills manual ( if our professional players need coaching on using both feet and passing the ball on quickly no wonder Scottish football is fxxked) come on Jack - raise the bar - increase the tempo and skill level - get some 5v3 high intensity keep ball going - mini games exploiting opponents territory - conditioned drills taking players out of their comfort zone and widening their understanding of the different roles on the pitch - FFS even a simple pass and move where you have to name the player you pass to to develop communication. Jack - we are pinning our hopes on you - we want an improved product on the park and a training session from the 1970's doesn't cut it!
  13. Free pint in the 1877 bar for everyone who #boughtthebuds!
  14. Should be aiming for a crowd of 5000 for this ! Our season starts now!
  15. Im not sure I agree with you lucifer - maybe a polite automated response is the way to go " thank you for contacting St Mirren Football Club with your suggestion - the club appreciates feedback from supporters and will look into the feasability of your suggestion"
  16. Il be in attendance - 2nd time this season - travelling up from Warrington with friend who is visiting from Arnheim in Holland and 2 Liverpool fans - 2 Evertonians and Man U fan ( 4 of them attending Saints for the first time!) it's lager for breakfast on the Virgin 10-27am from Bank Quay
  17. That surprises me i thought all the speakers at the SMISA event at UWS were all speaking from the same brief both Gordan and Alex gave a united message ?
  18. Get your early fix of Jack Ross on S4c and watch Alloa take on the mighty Bala Town
  19. Thanks for starting this thread St Ricky as it prompted me to click the link and read many of the postings seems that there are some sane and sensible ideas being banned about it in the main was a positive read with achievable and do- able suggestions! im glad it was not just a load of moaning and griping! Stuart I'm interested in your point about the format and I do in part agree however is there an alternative method? COYS
  20. In early 1990's as a qualified football coach and new appointed PE teacher at a school in Ellesmere Port - the school had just secured funding for an Astro pitch. Manchester Utd were in contact immediately as the wanted to set up a under 8's soccer school and get a foothold in the area ( their nearest one was in Crewe ) myself and colleague were asked to become accredited Man U coaches and co-ordinate the franchise. it all sounded very glamourous but in reality the hours were unsociable - the pay was poor and the potential hassle from parents "promoting" their talented prodigy meant I declined. that aside I still work near Widnes and plenty of the kids get scouted by Liverpool - Everton - City - Wrexham - Tranmere - Crewe and Accrington - for a small fee I'd be happy to send a few northwards!!!
  21. Not a marquee appointment and in my mind a gamble - but if successful and gets the support behind him that will do for me !
  22. Get it open to all for the Dundee Utd game - I'm travelling north with half a dozen work mates from down south who will be looking for a pre match pint it's an easy profit - £21 for us all to get in several pints each - nearly 200 quid in the coffers !
  23. Hopefully with Gordan being loaned out it frees up a wage to get someone else in?
