  1. And nothing about the Naismith penalty incident either. It's because of the unique way you, the licence fee payer, funds the BBC...
  2. I thought Harkins would be a great signing after I saw him tear us apart at Dens shortly before the Cup Final. We then re-signed McGowan and I couldn't see where he would fit in. That's been proven but I still think he could do a job in the midfield if McGowan wasn't there. He's the kind of guy you just need to let do his own thing. I hope he can come back next year, if McGowan goes, and prove himself.
  3. So it seems if a Dundee Utd player elbows someone in a tackle (Paul Paton on Aberdeen's Peter Pawlett) it's barely worth a mention on Sportscene...
  4. Wasn't at the game. Interesting to hear how the substitutions worked/ didn't work but on the face of it they look suicidal. Did we really finish with a midfield of Newton, McGowan, Kelly and Harkins and 2 kids up front away from home?
  5. Will be satisfied if we keep this to a 2 goal deficit - United are flying just now and we never beat them at home. Hopefully last week's return to 'Tinker Man' DL is done with and we put a competitive team back on the pitch. I fear the worst though and fully expect the howling on here to reach a crescendo when we lose today before things settle down again with a win over Hearts or Killie.
  6. Feared Danny would revert to type after Aberdeen defeat - bizarre team changes today. You can't play 3 playmakers in this league - the disastrous start to the campaign should have put that nonsense to bed once and for all. What McGinn does to be first midfielder dropped every time is beyond me too. Back to basics again for next week please.
  7. Would imagine they'll make their money back hundreds-fold by selling your details to all and sundry. Expect your junk mail and spam to increase exponentially.
  8. SPFL official called the game off - SPFL should meet costs of replay. That seems fairly simple to me. Why should the club which was wanting the game played be the one that pays for the replay? Ross County fans should certainly pay full price if their club pushed for a postponement. I'm sick of St Mirren 'doing the right thing' and getting nothing back for it.
  9. So I can't go today and hear the game's 'as live' on Alba. I avoid all football and settle down to watch it at 5.30. An hour later, it's abandoned. WTF did they show it for? Farcical.

    Adam Campbell

Did Thommo not sign for a year with an extra year option depending on appearances? Pretty sure I read he and Teale had both done so?
  11. Wonder if those late County goals will save Danny for another week?
  12. The worst thing is - I'm finding myself feeling no emotion when we lose now - I just accept it and move on. For some twisted reason, it feels bad that these defeats AREN'T ruining my Saturday anymore. An absolute passion-sapping mess. And I've not been to a game all season.
  13. No cup run to paper the cracks this time. Truly desperate.
  14. Dropping McGowan's a gamble but it may be worth it - he and Harkins can't play in the same team and Harkins is in better form. On paper that side looks more balanced (as long as he plays McGinn with Newton in the middle and not McLean). If we get pumped, dropping McGowan will be held up as a mistake. Personally think we'll get pumped regardless of what team he puts out - we're in a bad rut.
  15. Other than away games against the Old Firm, I've never felt so sure of defeat as tonight. Won't even be listening to the tranny because they've got QoS coach Billy Dodds doing our game for Open All Mics.
  16. Yet again a floundering team delighted to play us. With sadness, I agree it looks like Lennon's finished - a talented but unbalanced squad which he can't manage. Thanks for the cup Danny but the league form is torture. Time for a change.
  17. Decent performance but we are horribly one-paced. Frustrated by lack of urgency in last 1/2 hour too. Baffled by decision to drop McGinn. That said, Cornell didn't have a save to make and on another day, we'd have buried them. 2 points dropped and I saw nothing to think we're going to get much better.
  18. If we play everyone in their natural positions (albeit with Robertson at right back) we should win. My fear is Lennon will persist with McGowan in a deep lying role and he'll drop McGinn instead of Reilly. St Mirren 0 Kilmarnock 2 Crowd: loud booing
  19. Funding one of our rival's unsustainable spending sprees? Not for me thanks.
  20. Just watched St Johnstone play Minsk. Looks to me like they just need a good, quick striker to complete their team. Just saying...
  21. GMBB wrote: The 'agreement' with us didn't stop them sending 2 players to St Johnstone last season did it?(Aren't St Johnstone an SPL team BTW? *innocent face)
  22. Another SPL team in for Campbell now.
  23. Absolutely no offence taken. I wasn't there and listened to Open All Mikes in which John Robertson ( ex ICT manager and always looking for a chance to wind up Chick Young by pointing out our deficiencies) said it was even in the 1st half. I'm speaking about one specific incident in one game and regardless of debates about squad size, tactics, managerial competence etc, it had a massive bearing on the match. I've seen and heard no evidence that we'd have gone on to lose anyway. It may be that this defeat will ultimately be a positive as it shows up our deficiencies and gives us time to sort them. But the penalty DID have a massive bearing and we MAY have got something from the game if if hadn't been given. I don't see how that's 'desperate' or even particularly controversial?
  24. Desperate why? Going by radio commentary we had the best of the 1st half and hit the post shortly before half time. We were hit by a terrible decision within a minute of the re-start which clearly affected how the rest of the game went. Clearly DL was talking pish about grass and wind but the game was there for the taking until a terrible refereeing decision. What followed from St Mirren players and management wad very poor but had it's roots in that penalty award.
